Got to maiden mine today! AWESOME!! Got to the field and the wind refused to quit. A cross wind that would come and never quite go away. Flew my funtana125 and waited, was almost ready to call it a day and head to the house when the wind final just settled down. First take off was a little scary because some of the trims were out. Got it trimmed and flying great before the first lap was done. Flew 5 minutes and she just got better and better as I got used to her. Set up to land and no change with flap deployment other than as I set up for the approach it would not lose altitude. She is just a floater and the flaps just keep her up at a very slow speed. Finally got her settled in and lined up, landed so solid and smooth that I was shocked and after bringing her back to the pits I decided to take off again and go around and try another landing. As good if not better than the first. Guys this plane is a keeper. ok my stats.
DLE 55ra
Beila 20x10 4 blade
5625s all the way around
and the cg is set in the middle of the suggested range
Will be ordering the retractable tail wheel next week!!
Hope to get some video and pics tomorrow!

Awesome result, I was amazed how much lift these suckers have, mine lifts off the ground at half throttle during my warm up taxiing runs.
I haven't used my flaps for landing yet, 6 flights and I engaged them once and it pitched up a bit so I landed without.
My Saito Radial developed a miss just before maiden and 3 weekends of trouble shooting and its now been shipped back.
I have 3 Saitos, I know how to tune em but this ones a $1250 lemon.

skillet,
Ditto on the H-9 P-47. Mine is one of the original versions and it flies just as you describe. You might add a little down elevator-to-flap mix for landings. The plane is a keeper!

Blair K,
Hello
FYI, Ray English in Carson City Nevada, USA has developed a fix for the Saito radial engines. A web search should be able to find his contact info and the Youtube demo.
Will the FG33 have enough power to fly the 30cc H 9 P 47 ?
Jerry

Jerry it pulls it ok, my engine has a bad miss but still flys ok, its just hard to trust it when I can hear it breaking down.
I contacted Ray about the mods, he modifies the original components which voids the warranty (3year) ,
I'm going to machine a new inlet manifold myself, have also started design work on a roots style supercharger to bolt onto factory bolt holes.
8-15 psi will get it cracking and the whine of straight cut gears is unparalleled on a low pass.

I did not Lifer but it does seem slower. I am getting almost 25pounds of thrust measured with a digital fish scale. If I had to guess I would say that it was 6000 or less. (probably less) Now my engine only has 3 tanks of gas through it. I am willing to bet as it gets more broke in it will get in the low 6K range. I will get a RPM measurement next time I am out at the field and post back. What were you getting? 57-58? I did not notice any issues with the flying or pulling of the plane. It did not seem as fast as my H9150 Mustang that has a dle35 in it but it looked very scale in the air and I did not put the gear up for the first two flights. This was taken before I added the graphics and the remade gear doors.

Hello,
I am new here in the forum, live in Germany and am 70 years old. I succeeded on an auction platform a new kit of the Hangar 9 P-47-40 Thunderbolt 30cc buy. This model I would like to equip with a 12 s electric drive. For the model of the P 47 (HAN 4485) there is as upgrade an installation kit for the electroversion (HAN 448514). There is now for me the problem that this upgrade in Germany and Europe is no longer available. According to Horizon, the model of the P 47 was out of the program genomen.Ich now have the request to the users: is there somewhere still in the local workshop or well-known dealers such an upgrade? I am very grateful for any advice and tip. Best regards KlausHello,

Hi Klaus!
I'm running a 12s setup with the Rimfire 50cc and 12s 8000mAh batteries. I use gasoline motor standoffs instead of the Hangar 9 motor adapter for strength. I've fiberglassed the firewall, and taken some material out of the battery/fuel tank area to make room. See attached photos.
Congrats on the purchase. She's a fine aircraft, definitely the pride of my fleet.
Best,
Chris

Hello Nick, Super fast response. You are right, the engine carrier is not the problem, I would like the Accu carrier and the mounting like in the original. If you have a drawing with measurements, I would be very pleased if you can convey them to me. best regards Klaus

Hi Klaus,
I had no luck finding the drawing of the battery tray. I have the HAN448514 kit, and as you can see it is full of parts. I do not have the time to draw these up in a CAD file. One thing we could try is that I could trace the outlines of the parts on paper, and send those to you via mail. Kind of like having a set of plans to work from. Not the best solution, but the only one that will work unless there is someone else here who can help, or has already made up plans or laser cut parts.
Send me your address via PM and I will mail you the traces.
Nick

Hi all,
I have now been flying this fantastic model for the past 2 years. It is currently powered by a DLE 35 RA which is fine. However, I am considering shuffling a bit my engine and was considering to buy a DLE 40 Twin for my P47.
I did ask Horizon Hobby but their answer is that they don't install DLE engines in their kits and they sent me back to the forum to ask the question.
Would any of you have installed such a power plant in the HAN4485 kit? Is it fitting within the cowl? Is the cooling adequate?
I remember the engine being 180mm wide (cylinders horizontals) and I recon without the cowl 3D drawing it is difficult to judge because it could barely fit indeed.
Happy to have feedback from experience from other users on this one.
Cheers,
Manu

Hey all,
Just coming back back to this forum to revive the discussion!
I’m still running this airframe on the Rimfire 50cc electric, but have since down sized the battery to 5000mAh. I’m using a Mejzlik 22x12e carbon fiber prop, and can get a comfortable yet spirited 5:30 flight with room to spare for go arounds as necessary.
Enjoy!

I would like to ask if the newly offered Phoenix Models 30cc P47 is possibly the same as H9 offered? The first thing that sticks out is the canopy is a little bulged more than usual, no supercharger doors on sides and other minor details but overall what do you think. Since the H9 isn't available any longer maybe they transferred it to PM to produce.
Im working on using a DLE55 if i get it as i really hated to sell my GS TF P47 Razorback several years back. One reason to selling it was that large one piece wing.

Its not identical i agree but what other offering could be of similar size that would be comparable to the H9 version?
Finding a H9 ARF would be like me walking up on the end of the rainbow and finding gold. This PM version comes along and is very close but yes, not exactly the same.
