So I assume everyone has used the stock elevator and rudder pushrod/clevis setups with no problems?

Well I did it according to the manual and it does not bind or give me any other problems. I silver soldered everything accordingly and it works fine.

Pretty much standard procedure for making pushrods. Solder 1 end screw on the other. Never screw on both ends. A "Z" bend can be used in lieu of the solder end.

Ok, thanks. Good to hear the standard clevis setup is working well.

Hello everyone!

Been following this thread for a while and have found it very interesting.
Got myself my FW190 which will be glassing soon and painting, etc.. with a Saito FG84 as well. I bought also Robart electric retracts for mains and for the tail wheel as well. Now I am in the process of fitting these before I glass the model to make sure everything is fine and with the main ones I cannot get them to fit unless I take the actuator but how the hell you screw that back with the main retract once inside ??

Also the tail wheel I purchased is this one : http://robart.com/products/electric-...ilwheel-w-fork which is the Robart Fork electric 160 but there is no way I can get this inside the fuselage.

I have read about people using the Sierra tail wheel , mods, etc.., etc.. and others using the robart one, but did I get the wrong tail wheel one ? - if not I have seen nobody talking about this tail wheel in this forum and how to fit it.

Thanks for sharing!

the mains should shimmie in... you may have to shave .5mm on the outside mount plate to make it work.. shimmie it.. it'll go on...

the electric tail wheel? that's tough.. is the actuator hitting something on the inside or just getting into the fuse at all? I went with the static tailwheel that came in a P40 kit...hehe

Well, Andy is essentially done on the build of my 190....It came out flawless....has Sierra all the way around, on air; has a IFlyTailies cockpit kit; a Cortex Demon gyro, a Down&Locked IBEC so I'm only running two batteries on a Powersafe 12ch, with an 8 channel add-on module, and full Telemetry setup. It came out about 1/16" nose heavy, with zero lead...nice....even put an air gauge under the cover. Here are the final pix....I'll pick it up tomorrow, and start with the Callie Graphics package and ProMark Fuselage/maintenance markings sheets. They will really top this off. I'm actually mixing some of the decals from two different full scale models. But the main look will be the "Eagle". And I've got to "spiral paint" the spinner.

What do you all think of the black/white spinner that uses a 1/3 solid white block on the black spinner, vice a white spiral....it looks pretty cool actually, but different.

It's the Saito 84cc 3cyl Radial, with the KELEO Muffler Ring exhaust, and fully modified by Ray English for Fuel Plenum and Oil distribution and Bronzed bushing on the ConRod. Prop is a Biela 23x12x3. Fred Culbertson used a 22x12x3 for all his testing on the Saito 84, that started all the discussions over the mods by Ray English.....but Ray says the correct prop is the 23x12 after his mods....he gains 6-800RPM. Ray is now working for SAITO on contract to mod these and other Radials under SAITO factory warranty. There's a lot of strong feelings about this.....pro and con....shouldn't have to pay to fix a brand new engine, but I felt it was worth it, and chalk it up to poor engineering by SAITO, and I think they are now addressing it. It's worth it if you only fix the connecting rod bushing.

Also, besides the graphics I'll put on....ProMark has a really cool 2 page set of markings....they are all the hydraulic pressures, oleo extension #'s, the "do not step here" warnings, that are on all aircraft....and of course in German....they really add a lot of realism and you get a schematic showing where they all go. If you look at a full size 190, you'll notice the entire surface of the landing gear strut cover has writings all over it, for the maintenance guys to service the undercarriage, etc. So that is what the Pro Mark set is about. And it was very reasonable.

Hi,

See attached pics of the Robart electric tailwheel, as you guys can see the actuator cannot be removed as it is fixed to the tail block..
The steering arm cannot fit inside the fuse as well as the bracket...
Quite pissed of about this as according to Topflite site this tailwheel should fit perfectly.

Don't know what to do as I could open the fuse to get that in and sheet it again or simply sell it and get something else!!!

any ideas ??

Is good to hear that the 160WC can be fitted!
Could you send some pics from above and inside to see how much you shaved the stringer and horns ?

Thanks!

I have held one up to the 190 and it slipped in with no issues....I think you have a 1/4 scale tailwheel assembly packaged in a 1/5 scale package....it's way too big....it's wider than the plane....that is the wrong unit, Can't shave that much off......call TF or Horizon or wherever you ordered it and just return it...it's the wrong one.

Has anyone here bought Wing Tote Bags for this or other Warbird style one=piece wings? I really need something to curb Hangar rash, and transport issues.
Thanks

a guy I met through RCG and in person at the PVMAC flightline, CharlieoneSeven (I think), uses 1/2 inch foam/styrene sheet and hot glues them together.. my friend, Sam Wright, just showed up with the same deal.. it works exceedingly well.. I'll try and get details for you
