LOL..
I honestly.... can't figure it out...
Piles of techonology at our finger tips to aid us in communication and yet it isn't used 90% of the time by companies that should be.

I have the struts a couple time in hard crosswind landing... 15 mph cross wind that one I probably shouldn't have flown in but I had a new motor and didn't want to go to a fly in without at least one flight on it. the other time was a dead stick in a plowed field thus the new motor. Any way I have 3 sets of struts coming to experiment with headed my way and he is working on the uppers now. When all is said and done I hope we all have the opportunity to choose a stronger set of gear at a reasonable price.

I'll hang back on the Robarts for now then
And am I right that if I wanted to go Sierra's, there's a fair bit of wing modding required (i.e. they won't just drop in?)

Mine has a DLE 55 with a painted Menz prop 22x10, and pneumatic Robart gear. I painted the spiral on the spinner also, used callie decals to change it up. The plane flys nice but you need to finesse those landings with those long gear.

Looks good, did you just paint the white spiral on the Stock Black Spinner; or strip it down, painted it white then painted black on over the white? the reason I ask, it doesn't look like the black shows through the white, it can be tuff sometimes to put white on over black without the black showing through, but yours looks good, it would save me from having to strip it down.
Also, I have those Callie Graphics as well for my FW190, did you remove the Stock Eagle Head and use the one from Callie?

dasintex- I kept the spinner spiral simple, all I did was a gentle alcohol wipe of the stock spinner and masked off where I wanted the spiral to go. I then mask covered off the remaining black of the spinner and spray painted it with a can of testor flat white that i had, placed 2 light coats. The black did not show through and it came out pretty nice.
As far as some of the aerial photos they were taken by an excellent photographer 'Mike Cox' at the Elkhart,IN warbird air supremacy event.

dasintex-...also I liked the callie decals far better than what came with the kit. I felt the german cross needed the solid black to help overcome some of the monokote sheen of the wing and fuse. I left the stock eagle decal that came with the plane on however.

Huh?
I must be blind - coz I can see it clearly in every photo
And its presence - or not - is often an individual's choice. Sometimes, even banned at certain venues.
Some things don't seem to change a lot - even after nearly 70 years. Some are still a little sensitive. It doesn't bother me either way. But then again, I don't make the 'rules'.
Great pics by everyone, BTW

Hope you're gonna spill the beans soon - still not sure what retracts to go for. So I'm kinda stuck just now.
Hopefully, whatever you can turn-up will bolt straight in, be strong, 'good looking', and come in at a reasonable price (and... they'll ship to Australia )

Probably not. I've been inactive in the hobby for 10 years. Still have a 1/4 scratch D9 about 70% done. My Dora wing design was also used by Evan Quiros on his1/4 D13. Also have a 1/5 P-51B about 70% done a 1/6 Bucker Student 90% finished and 3 kits in the closet. I've been drag racing and restoring cars the past 10 years. I have 2 cars I'm working on now, when they are finished I plan to get back into the hobby and participate in local scale events again. I hope to meet up with you one day.

Really guys I would rather replace those plastic cams then start repairing the wood in the wing.
I know how tough it is to get some parts out of Robart.
First, I can never find a list of parts on their website.
I usually have to make a call if I need to order something like cam blocks.
I wish they would be like OS Engines on Tower where you can order and SEE just about any engine part you need.

Heya Robart-Joe
How does a guy from Australia like me going about ordering some Robart retracts to suit the TF FW190?
When I go to the Robart site for either electric or air retracts, it tells me that they are "Exclusive through Great Planes".
And when I go to the Great Planes site, there's nothing listed
