Well, did my maiden flight today. Was surprised at how good this 190 flies. This is my first GS. Before this my heaviest plane was a GP Waco at around 13lbs. Anyway got a couple of flights in and last landing didn't go well. It was a little rough and I nosed over (too much flaps I think). It happened fast and not sure how, but I saw one of my retracts flying off the plane. Looking at it I saw the trunion broke. No bent pins though and nothing else broke, even the prop is fine. Not sure what to make of it.
Of all the problems the FW gear can have, this is a new one. This was poor metal. I am sure Robart will back you up on this.

Hi Dan, no I do not have the inserts, 3/8" width at the bottom of wing. The photos show the wing with stock 2 degree dihedral and with modified shim giving the wing 5 degree dihedral, also the 3 degree shim and new 5 degree wing joiner and longer wing alignment dowl pins.

Jumping back to the thread from some time ago, it so happened that the following video taken by a friend back in 2015 (but only recently surfaced) came under my attention...
Thanks to Spiros for the wonderful job in presenting the model in such a nice way. Sorry for the short flight sequences, the day was too hot and the motor was struggling - I decided to take her down after a couple of circuits and not risk an overheat.
The taxying shots are worth it, though (switching on the subwoofer in the PC helps).
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FqSHQz8crRc The model was presented here about a year ago (see posts 3832-42 on Page 154).

Great Video Taxi Out To on pass and a Landing an Taxi in. Short and to the Point. Only thing that would better is a description of the Plane engine servos kit etc.
Hey how about tacking some Pics and Posting them in the "Where Do U Fly Thread."?

All that's broken is what you see in the picture, everything else is fine and works as it should. I did send an email to [email protected] and have not heard back yet. If I don't hear by tomorrow I'll call them.

Ok... I'm slowly trying to get back into RC (long strory)...and IIRC, I bought a set of Robart electrics for my TF FW190.
I recall reading that there's some sort of 'mod' one needs to do in order to beef-up the wing mains.
Can anyone put it into simple (BJ) terms what I need to order and how to apply the mod?
Many thanks in advance...

Go to post #1849 on page 74 of this thread. I lay it all out for you there.
This was performed several years ago now before anyone I know of had done it on any of the other Robart electric gear.
Try this link, http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/rc-w...l#post11552405

Is Robart customer service always this unpleasant? I sent my email on Saturday. Haven't heard a thing so I called yesterday. I talked to someone in tech support and told him I wanted to follow up on the email I sent. He pretty much blew me off saying it was a holiday weekend so they're behind and not to worry, someone will get back to me. He didn't want to know what it was about or anything. 3 days now and still nothing. Sorry, but if one holiday puts you behind so far that in this day and age you can't respond to an email within 3 days than maybe you should hire more people. Or maybe you should make your parts available through other vendors.

Ambient temps were about 32C with high humidity. Engine temps began climbing from 150C to over 180C.
I think that the slender-bladed APC 22x10 was probably not grabbing the thin air too well, cause otherwise the engine would rev normally.
Engine had more than 5lt through it.

" Not seen this before" HA! I show them the same parts with the same problem with my fix ( same as the one outline here in this thread) at Warbirds of the Midwest in Aug 2014. Is told that " that something needs to fail to prevent more damage" I spoke with Justin at Toledo in March, again on the same issue. He acknowledged the issue and told me they were now using strong metal. He was aware of the fix many have used with the cam blocks, His comment was " want ever works".
