Devens, looks like you have a "sport" style hinge. If there is a gap in the hinge line it can let air bleed thru the hinge. That can cause flutter. Also with the torque rods used on the elavator, can also contribute to the flutter problem. Sloppy servo linkages and controls are also major factor of flutter.
All are easy to fix.

I know you are using a G-62 but not sure if it is stock mag or been converted to electronic, but in eather case I would do the following
Kill switch OFF
Choke till there is fuel dripping from the carb, open switch on and flip it thru acoupla of times it should pop then open the throutle a click or two and go for it, you will have to try a few things to find the best sequence or you just do the same every time. Do to my arthritis in my hands I have jump starts and spring units on both of mine. If you are going with a spring unit just make sure you don't back wind it over 3/4 turn more than that tends to mess up the spring
If your engine is brand new I would bench run it for at least an hour with a fuel mix of 32 to1 and any good ashless none synthic oil, mine was and it did not start to come to life till I had about 3 hous of run time
Hope this helps

Ok here are some pics in the driveway. I have the 19/10 3 blade on it for the photo shoot. I will maiden with a 22/10. She weights 32lbs with 2 lbs of lead in the nose.
I checked the balance at 5-1/4" back and she is still tail heavy. That dimention is pretty far in front of the main spar. Is every one balancing out at about 1" in front of the main spar?

RE: GROUP BUILD - Top Flite Giant Scale F4U Corsair
Bob,
Thanks for the info.
On the balance... I am still tail heavy with 2 lbs on the firewall. I will recheck before I change anything but I plan to shim out my wieght with wood to move CG forward so I shouldn't have to add Lbs. I will show pics. I am used to taill heavy aircraft but aerobatic vs warbird isn't a good comparison. I usually tune my warbirds by specs or word of mouth then adjust from there. It is tempting to say wtheck I can handle it.
I have a spring starter. I probably should use an electric starter to get it running to start with. I havn't tried too hard to start it....it wont stop raining and I hate messing with it in the driveway. I rather start it at the field if you know what I mean. I took it to a flyin this weekend just to mess with it and get the engine running and by the time I was set up and paid I had to start tearing down.

I don't like any bird tail heay, and a 30 + lb corsair will be like having a tiger by the tail when you slow down. That space on the chin first blkd to the fire wall is a good place for your weight you can use lead or steel shot double bagged in zip lock bags, they cant go any ware and the neet thing is you can go a bit nose heavy and then take some out as you get used to your bird.
I have a buddy that picked up a 18v hand drill and with one of those big cones it works on a DA-50 will get the brand and model and post it later. he did try acoupla of different ones to get one that had the RPM and the torque

Yup I understand and I did not mean for you to change it, if you have room fwd thats great I did not, so the next best place for me was the space I sugested.
If I had it to do over I wold make the engine mount ply plate (page 32 first pic) out of a pice of steel, have seen a coupla of outher birds done that way and seems to work well.
Sorry about the misunderstanding

RE: GROUP BUILD - Top Flite Giant Scale F4U Corsair
Bob,
no worries. I have 2lbs of lead bolted to my firewall so a steel plate would help but I would need more. I will post some pics "I hope" of my weight. I plan to shim it off the firewall with a wood block a couple of inches or so. I have plenty of room to go to about 5 inches I think but that will be too flimsy. So I am gping to space it out as for as I feel comfortable with then I am hoping I can remove a little of the weight.

I am using Robart hinges. Do you concider them sport hinges?
ORIGINAL: Thunderbolt47
Devens, looks like you have a ''sport'' style hinge. If there is a gap in the hinge line it can let air bleed thru the hinge. That can cause flutter. Also with the torque rods used on the elavator, can also contribute to the flutter problem. Sloppy servo linkages and controls are also major factor of flutter.
All are easy to fix.

A "scale hinge" has the center of the hinge embedded in the elavator (half the distance of the thinkness) and a rounded edge on the elavator. The back of the stab has an overhang that seals the stab and elavator. (a "pocket hinge")
hope this helps.
Sorry I can't get you any pics, but my internet is down at the moment and I'm using my sister's computer.

Robert, I cant believe someone else is the same as I am. Every photo that is posted Im always scanning the backgrounds for odds and ends, I guess just being inquisitive.
That is a doll cabinet / desk I built 25 years ago for one of my daughters. When we reworked her bedroom I moved it to the garage to refinish it and I had taped the doors closed during the move to keep them from swinging open and causing damage.
