I usually get the plane ready for paint. then paint silver where the chart tape is going to be laid. put the chart tape on and paint the airframe. I leave the chart tape on but over time it sometimes will peel, hence the silver underneath.

Elevator flutter is a problem. Saw one go in at Warbirds over the rockies, Flutter on my father's, and another one I have seen.

With my speakers up a load as they go did not hear it, but that is just my bad hearing. don't remember what your using for power and how you did your elevator,s but befor tairing into it I would seal the hinge line with some clear tape on the under side to see if that works and of corse double check for any slight play check the push rods and add stifiner as necessary.
Just my 2 penneys worth, and good luck, of corse you can allways pull the left stick back acoupla of clicks

Minimizing the gap between the stab and the elevators has worked. another fix I saw that worked was to move the elevator servos into the tail.

Hate to see you mess up the out side of your bird, T/F designed the kit to work and in most failures it is the builders falt, with that said I would do what I suggested in post # 8045 and above on this page. If you are going to get into her you might as well go with covered hinges more scale like, as you have to much invested to not ID the problem and fix it at the root.
Cutting the hings and pulling the pines is not hard just tedious, just an old mans 2 pennys worth

Robert it was seeing your Corsair Brotherhood number in your signiture block that let me know there was one.
My first Corsair was the TF Gold in the early 90's when it first came out. I was the envy of many because I had the cockpit and a functioning flap. I could not figure out how to get all three to work from a single servo, which is the way it was configured. The directions back then were a little sparse. I have built two since then (they, like other aircraft have built-in expiration dates) and have another TFG kit waiting.
I started the ESM 50cc Corsair a couple of months ago and working through it but not all ARF’s are made equally. I would be further along but I mentioned (well maybe pleaded) to my wife at how beautiful the GP WACO was and that I already had an engine for it. She got it for me for Father’s Day and the Corsair progress was slowed down.
I am an admitted RC Junkie but my three favorite aircraft are F4U Corsair, WACO YMF, and Super Stearman. I was fortunate enough to set in a full scale F4U-1A in the early 80’s during an air show at what was Hamilton Army Air Field and got Pappy to autograph my log book. I now fly these older aircraft as a tribute those heroes and the aircraft they flew, as I day dream in the safety of the freedom they defended.
I will PM ctflyboy aka George and go back to assembling rather than rambling on here.

(All three (Byron's/Iron Bay, Top Flite Giant Scale, ESM) are abouth the same size)
You should do a seperate Build Thread on your ESM Build that would help other people who are also building it!

RE: GROUP BUILD - Top Flite Giant Scale F4U Corsair
Back a few post some one ask if any one was flying there birds. Well I got mine out to day and got in a great flight, my ctp was my spotter and he was a little grumpy that I was not flying out a bit farther, and do to a new pita nabor we have a new NO FLY zone so the landing aproch was a bit off and steep so I got acoupla of good bounces not to hi just bounces, exercised the struts a bit, so all is good, everything is in one pice.
Now why I hate plastic covering even more we blew a 4 /x 20 pice from the left side and 3 more seams have let go. Will have to see if I want to strip glass and paint or just patch and seal the seams with nail polish
That it from fly over land
Cheers Bob T
