Hi Johnnie and Jason,

I bit the bullet and ordered a set of Eurokit retracts ex Col Taylor in Oz. They cost me less than 300 bucks and arrived in four days flat. They even arrived with wheels fitted. Nice looking units - I`ll be interested to see how they perform......

Alan,
Who did you order from, and what was the item number you used?

Thanks,
Darrell

Hey Guy good to see that some one is having a win. I just got a reply from Eurokit. This is the reply,

Dear Mr. Jason,

Sorry for late answer. Yes we are manufacturing a landing gears set for CMPRO AT-6 TEXAN 160.

Actually this set have not an Eurokit code number becouse till today we have sold it only to dealers.

We can sell directly to customers through our e-shop at www.eurokitlucca.it/ashop

You can send an e-mail asking for CMPRO AT-6 TEXAN 160 L/G KIT. The price for the full kit is Euro 298,00.

Thank you and best regards

I went to Eurokits' online store but I could not locate the retracts. Do you know how I can find them?

I do not think that Euro Kit retracts exist. I bought a set of robart 620 At-6 retracts, man are they a peice of workmanship. I realize I will have to make changes to the kit but I think it will be worth it. Hopefully I will post some pictures along the way. Nitro planes were useless and Euro Kit us was just as bad. Neither responded to my emails after you folks did all the work tracking down the retracts and the part numbers. They should be ashamed of themselves.

Hey Tony,
Have you got any pictures of the mods you have had to make to the wing to fit the Robart gear?
Thanks,
Darrell

Darrell,

Not yet but I will post pictures when I start on the project. I am finishing a Goldberg Yak, the AT-6 is my next model. I have all the parts so I will start soon.

Thanks Tony,
I'm wanting to do one of these as well. I have the plane, and if your mods work well, I will add the Robart 620 retracts also. I look forward to your pics and progress. Good luck with the Yak.

Okay now that I,ve figured out the pic posting here goes. As you can tell, I,ve only just started to remove material from one of the retracts mounts and will probably clear everything out down to the fiberglass and then fabricate new ribs and mounts from 1/4" ply. I,m still waiting for some Hysol to arrive before I get to that stage. The flying surfaces have been stripped of the stock covering and will eventually be glassed. As for the fuse I,ve sanded it down with a Scotch Brite pad and have primed it. I,ll post additional updates as I go along.

thx Dave

I just ordered the Eurokit retracts. I sent an email with all my info to [email protected]. I will let everyone know how it works out. They said that they are in the process of posting it to their online shop. Perhaps in the future there will be good support for the U.S.A. Gary

I would have gone with the Eurokit retracts if there had been support at the time that I started the kit. But unfortunetly they were not readily available at the time. Doing all of the mods can be fun as well, besides you can also design in some extra support for a very high stress area. Can you post some pics of the Eurokit units when you get them as I would like to compare them with the Robart units.
thx Dave

This year I built the CMP Warhawk 140. I had to cut out the wings to make the retracts fit. It is a lot of work. There was a guy on this thread, (post#60 I believe) that convinced me to go for the Eurokit retracts. I think that the original ones had problems. Hopefully they will send me the good ones. They sent me a picture. I will upload it now. I hope it works. Gary P.S. I almost bought the Robarts. They look great.

Boy do those look nice. I think for all of those guys looking for retracts for this kit the Eurokit version is a good deal as it comes with wheels retract valves and even festo fittings. Looks good.
thx Dave

Yes the Eurokit retracts look nice and they did say that they come with wheels. They also come with foam inserts for the wheels, but I am not sure what that means. Maybe you put them in the wheel wells to keep the retracts from jiggling around. Gary

I would think that the foam inserts are like 1/8th buggy wheels, they have foam inserts that go inside the tires to help support the tires from rolling due to side loads off the rims. Yet another nice touch. I bet by the time you have everything together I will have paid as much or more and will have had to do additional modifications as well. They look pretty robust as well. What is going to be the all up cost to get them to your door? I,ve got $315 into mine for the retracts, air control kit and wheels.

Ok, now I know what the inserts are for. I am not sure what the cost will be, since it is in Euro dollars. When I get my credit card statement I will post it. I think that they will cost somewhere around the $300.00 mark for the full kit. Gary

Hello everyone,

I thought that I would post a few pictures of the Eurokit gear installed into the middle section of the wing. This is all that I have accomplished up to this point, but it is very cool, and I really like the way that these work.

I guess I started on my kit to early as the Eurokit retracts look good. I,m commited now to modifying my wing center section so I,ll just keep plowing ahead. I figure while I,m at it setting up flaps as well can,t hurt. I was at the LHS today and had a Zenoah G-26 placed on the firewall to check the fit. Its perfect as it won,t need any unsightly holes to be carved in the cowl except for the sparkplug but thats on the underside. I,m selling my Saito 180 that I had purchased for this project and now plan on going with the Zenoah 26. I,ll post updated pics when I get the motor. Here is a pic of the full size I,m going to replicate.

thx Dave

Hi Dave,
I'm thinking of doing that USAF yellow and black checkers simple but affective. I got a price for a set of ROBART 620 RETRACTS wait for it $526 Aus not a complete kit all the pneumatic system has to be purchased separately so maybe $600 plus. Though the EUROKIT is a shade under $500 Aus complete. I still like the robart retracts though I may have to save some pennies a little bit longer.

Keep up the good job with the build
Best Regards
Jason M
