BTW Gary,,
you didn't mis much yesterday,, the heat forecast and rain in the AM made for a small turn out,,, No other big warbirds or scale planes besides a club member's DR-7,,, all 3D types only,, Jamie Hicks did put on an impressive show though,, that boy can handle the sticks.

Zombie was back in action today after her slide into the corn patch a couple weeks ago. In view of the sudden dead engine last flight, we replaced the ignition box and installed a new plug and the engine ran flawlessly. Two good flights (and landings) and the electric gear worked flawlessly as well. The new faster speed is very real looking as well.
We neglected to find a new Bolly prop in time, so we had to use the spare Vess 27 X 8 (or A as they call it). It is not as fast with this prop. It does land quite a bit shorter with this prop, even with only half flaps, as I used today. It would make a good prop for a short field.

Did you see the new instrument panel Dino has? It looks awesome and would have saved us several hours of building time, had we had it a couple years ago.

Some more pictures from Sunday. Zombie was the heaviest plane there, and the only giant scale war bird other than our electric P-51.
We had the airspace to ourselves each time we flew her. Sorry, no air shots or video. No competent cameraman on site.

GOOD NEWS. Brain had his second operation today, and it went very well. Looks like they got all the cancer. He will begin some treatments to make sure, but he was back in the shop already this afternoon. Much better than after the first operation.
He has this week off and now thinks he will be able to spend much of it in the shop. We are readying the CARF Corsair for it's first flight. He is the 'wing man', and I am putting the final touches on the fuselage.
Zombie is ready for her next sortie. Just need to get better props ready for her. I'm going to try a Biela 26 X 10.
BTW, the war bird guys that were there last Sunday all loved the somewhat WW new look for Zombie. We do too.
Couple more pictures. First one is the path Zombie cut through the corn field (the boys went back out to look for the wing tip lenses, and found them both). Last shows Zombies new hanger mates, in the foreground, the new Corsair, and in the background, the electric P-51.

We are using the CC HV 160ICE and it works great, for the Hacker 80 that is in the Mustang.

You can count on that. After the year your brother and I have had, we need it. Booked my hotel a couple of days ago so I'm all set.

Hey Gary
I booked at the Hilton garden inn. I didn't go through Cindy because during this this time of the year it's cheaper to book it yourself on hiltons website.
$89 dollars a night plus tax
The only catch is it's non refundable if your a no show.
Through Cindy it's refundable, but you pay more a night. Last year her rate was $100 a night and I booked it myself for $89.
