Default volcano back in action!

after a winter time bash with a vxl system on 3s in the cold weather, the volcano had some cracked plastic parts and needed some help.

so hear it is, i put an ezrun system in it. upgraded the steering knuckles and the rear hubs to alloy ones.
replaced an a-arm, spur gear, "C" hub and camber link.
tried fitting an old evo body on it. kinda looks cool.

it does fine. its the same motor that comes in the larger cladera 10e!
i have used this motor also in a kyosho blizzard(tracked rc) without issue.
it may not hit 70mph on 3s lipo like a vxl motor(true 540 sized an) but it can do 50mph and not overheat at all.
same with the ESC. its rated at 35amp, but performs as well as a 70-90amp ESC's i have used.

which turn motor did you go with and what pinion gear? i installed the 8.5t 60amp on my sons volcano with 17t pinion and its pretty quick with 2 cell lipos. cant wait to try 3 cell. i ordered the 9t 35 amp kit first but didnt think it would be strong enough so sold it to a friend for his sons rustler before even trying it. But in the rustler it runs 65mph on 3 cells.

its the 10t 3900kv motor.
using the stock epx pro pinion gear for the volcano.
these 35amp ESC's are underrated. granted, the 60amp is a better choice. it never hurts to have a speed control that is more than what you need.
and even tho the motors are really 380 sized finned out, they provide plenty of torque for a 4wd the size of the volcano.

thats a tough one. my earthquake 8e has actually broken more on me, but then its larger/heavier and faster.
kinda comparing apples to oranges there.
the volcano with a brushed system on 2s lipo will do high 30mph range. the earthquake will hit 45-50mph.
the super larger tires on the earthquake put alot of stress on the stub axles and the steering.
no issues yet with anything else tho.

on the volcano, i have bent or broken a couple of dogbones, broken a rear hub and a "C"hub. no drivetrain issues as of yet. others have stripped the diffs, but mine have held up fine. pretty amazing for a brushless 4wd with no slipper clutch.
