Ok well i ordered the HPI clutch bell set from towerhobbies. Also got that little 1/16th white spoiler just to try it out since it was sooo cheap.

I also got 4 HPI 3x47mm shock shafts: http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXN177&P=0
I got those because the weak alloy shock shafts in the tornado all aluminum shocks have given me trouble, 2 of them bent on me, thankfully i had some spares from my plastic shock set. Those HPI shafts should fit... if my measurments are correct.....I hope or i wasted 7 bucks! The shafts are 2mm longer, but so are the shafts from my plastic shock set that i am using in my current shocks so i don't think it will be a big deal. Once i get them and put them in i will tell you how it goes. If its a perfect fit, you should stack up on them since they should be ALOT stronger.

It all works out... i have school exams this week, and since my car won't be running till the end of the week ill HAVE to STUDY for exams instead of playing with my car! I hate exams! [:@] Oh well.

When the throttle response is not good what screw would you adjust and leaner or richer?

depends on what happening, sluggish and blubbery sounding, you need to lean it out, top speed is the high needle , take off is low needle. only 1/8 turn at a time and drive a couple of loope before adjusting more

the should be toed out a little, the turnbuckles are how you adjust it, its the 2 plastic eyes with the threaded center that attaches to the steering arm. You turn it to move the wheels in and out.
There are turnbuckles on top as well as toward the rear of the front wheels, I am assuming you mean the one at the rear of the wheels?

Also, it seems they are pretty tight, do I need to hold the steering arm or the other piece they connect to when trying to turn the threaded portion?

Anyone happen to know what size that is? My smallest open ended wrench I had on hand was 1/4" and that was not small enough, and I am sure it is metric.

Thanks!

i would hold the plastic part of the turnbuckle, you are right its the rear one. i usually use plyers.

I will give that a shot, after I get my second new clutch spring installed (later today).

I am also having a problem with my RPM tuned exhaust pipe - http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/WTI0001P?&I=LXBMH0

Once installed, it is being rubbed by the rear of my passenger side tire at full lock? Has anyone else installed one of these and if so, how did you secure it to the chassis? I bent the stock attachment piece to work but it holds it too close to the tire.

Thanks!

Well I finaly got my tornado bb broke in and tuned without to many problems. BUT, today it took a really bad roll and I broke a few parts.[:@] I broke The tail wing holder, the rear left shaft holder, and put a 90 deg. bend in the rear left axle. Does anyone know of some interchangeable parts that I can pick up localy to get my car going again? I have a hobby town real close to me.
Thanks

Hey guys im back from a long stomach virus..[:'(]
I got my stuff from towerhobbies: radio, clutchshoes, ect. I have a installation question. I can't get the HPI clutchshoes i ordered to fit perfectly on my flywheel. [] Heres the link of the clutchshoes: http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXLW03&P=0 Everybody said they would work...
Here is a better explanation of my problem: http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b1...r40128copy.jpg
As soon as im feeling totally better ill get some pictures of what the problem is unless somebody can help me fairly soon.

could you put it on and take a picture, i think you could sand the inside of the shoes where it hits.

I am interested in how this works out, as my bro-in-law wants to replace his stock clutch shoes which have grooves worn in them from the stock clutch bell housing, we found while installing the HPI Racing 17T Clutch Bell.

Once this works out, I can get him some new shoes and will be able to install them for him. Unless someone knows of other shoes that are direct replacement and would be good replacements for the stock ones.

this will work, i have used it on my volcano, it gives a much higher rpm engagement (higher stall) but it eliminates the spring all together. i upgraded my rs4 3 to the one that nsxtcy has so i thought it would be a direct fit on the volcano since the stock shoes were. here is the link to the stock shoes that i used from an rs4 3 : http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXVK12&P=7

Wow thanks ehroof, so these here - http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXVK12&P=7 will replace the stock shoes on a Redcat Volcano STX?

That is good to know the next time when/if even my Traxxas spring goes out I can get these instead of buying springs and shoes together and only using the 4146x spring.

they do work and fit, just takes more rpm's to engage the clutch, my son didnt like it so i put the stock shoes back in with the taxxas spring.
