Ehroof have you ever had problems with the front shock plate bending on crashes alot? Whenever i run into something head on even when im not going very fast the aluminum shock tower bends at the top where the shock is screwed on, it is fixable by bending it back, but soon it might crack off. Why is it so sensitive? Anything stronger that is compatible?

if you have a tornado then yes mine bends too, i just bent it back straight. Its aluminum so i am not too sure what you can upgrade too, lol. Just bend it back and you should be fine.

ok..lol thats what i have been doing. Scared it will crack someday. [] But still got questions! Ehroof did you upgrade to the HPI clutchbell with 17/22T? I might do that someday. But i was wondering if the clutchbell upgrade would decrease accl. alot because of the 1 tooth difference..... Accleration is what i lean toward to more... What upgrades would put out more accleration? I heard something about the size of the exhaust pipes change accleration and topspeed... which increases accel? Bigger or smaller? Also What tires and wheels would work with the Tornado? I saw the BB and the XP front suspension was different, which one is better? I would think the bb's would be but after looking at i still cant tell.

1. Yes i upgraded the clutch bell and its fine, better than stripping gears.
2. put a pipe, i was thinking about this one: http://cgi.ebay.com/NIB-1-10-Turbo-R...QQcmdZViewItem with an hpi header for a .15
3. The bb has the same suspension like the tmaxx and other cars with the ball style suspension, i have yet to break a suspension part on my xp.

http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_40..._4/key_/tm.htm Look at the 2nd to last post on that page, its says "you can use the A885 racing clutch from the HPI RS4" Where could i find that? Could that possibly be it: http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXLST3&P=0 ? Thanks

you can use the a885, i have it in my volcano, no springs and higher stall, it needs more rpm's to take off so it launhes better so that one you posted should work.

What are you talking about no Springs? http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXLW03&P=M
It uses springs. If you have one that uses no springs show me i want one.

I ordered this:
http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...=LXASX378&P=ML
http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXLW03&P=M
http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...&I=LXBTB5&P=ML
http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LX3299&P=0
http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...&I=LXK134&P=ML

Should have gotten the HPI clutch bell and 17/22 T but it was all already totaling 90 buks. [:'(] So.. i will buy it when this clutch bell breaks.

What tires and wheels are compatible with the tornado?

Are there any other 2 way drive clutches (part # 02045) for the tornado BB that is better quality? Another manufacturer 2 way drive clutch that will fit and work with the tornado? Would these work: http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXKLU9&P=0 and http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXM745&P=0 ?

Is there a nice metal front bumper that will bolt on to the tornado? I need one i crash to much. Im having trouble keeping my gas tank flip open cap closed. The spring isnt strong enough... Anywhere i can get one stronger? I have been using wire to hold it down but that keeps breaking.... [&o] Goodnight

I am running the HPI 17-T racing clutch bell and good thing I ordered it after my spring went because the stock clutch bell was deteriorating fast I mean to the point where there were holes worn through and I didn't see them until I had it removed [:-]

Anyway, I ordered this muffler and was wondering where does the fuel pressure hose connect - http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/WTI0001P?&I=LXBMH0

This was suggested to me to purchase, and I am a little confused ...

Nevermind the exhaust muffler question, I figured it out - Thanks!

Thanks ehroof, I installed the pipe and love it!

I held off on the header install though, it seems it would so much easier with the engine removed and I'm just not up for that today.

Over the weekend, I had a collision and broke the lower half of the my passenger side steering arm - http://cgi.ebay.com/Himoto-steering-...QQcmdZViewItem fortunately I was able to put some gorilla glue on it and it setup great so I am going to let it be but buy some spares in case it happens again or gives out.

Do you think Clermont sells these?

Also, do you or anyone else know of any common parts that I should have on-hand so that I do not have downtimes waiting on new parts?

Thanks guys, I did install the HPI 17 T clutch bell on Friday, before crashing

I'll be ordering the steering and lower arms, 2 sets today. Once I get feedback on this ...

What about aluminum lower arms, are those available and would you think they are any better?

Thank you both!

i personally think they are too much money and aluminum does bend. If you hit hard enough the plastic that the aluminum is attached to will break. Plastic is cheap, you can buy 10 sets of plastic for the price of aluminum. I have many rc's and none have aluminum arms, i do like aluminum shock towers though. The rustler and jato would always break the plastic ones.

Cool thanks for the reply, I repsect your opinion and agree as well. I am cost conscious and would not want to pay a lot for something that may bend or otherwise fail me. I would rather buy replacements or use replacements I have on hand when needed.

Thanks again!

Would these work with the tornado's front and rear? : http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXMX91&P=0 and http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXNX97&P=0 ?

Also this spolier, would it work on the torando? : http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXPDF6&P=0 Its really cheap, i might try it out.

Any compatible gas tanks?

It would be cool for someone to compile a list of all the parts on Towerhobbies that are compatible in some way with the tornado... [8D]

the wing you picked was for a 1/16th scale you need 1/10. I found one on ebay after alot of looking. The rims you picked should work, just get the rally tires for it.

One more question I have ... my front end seems to have alignment issues, I mean the front tires seem to point outward more-so towards the front of them.

Is this normal? How can I or should I adjust them so that they are straight?

Thanks

the should be toed out a little, the turnbuckles are how you adjust it, its the 2 plastic eyes with the threaded center that attaches to the steering arm. You turn it to move the wheels in and out.

Why cant i get the tires i showed you? They should work shouldn't they? The tires width is the same as the rear tires on the tornado.

Also just a couple minutes ago my clutchbell broke, the gears broke away from the main part. LOL And i just ordered all that stuff from towerhobbies without getting the HPI clutchbell! [:'(] Could hobbytown have the HPI 2 speed clutchbell and 17/22t teeth? If i have to order again i will, but it would be great if they had them at hobby town.
Thanks
