who's we? you have a website?
quote me a price on a metal spur gear, and truggy tires and wheels 17mm
i wanted this thread to be a reference for redcat owners, a list of parts sites and most commonly broken parts so we redcat owners know what to stock up on. see i did research and found the rear wing, c-hubs and other stuff on my car breaks allot so i ordered extra when i ordered the car.
i did not know the spur gear was crap or i would have ordered extra and be out driving right now.
so please

RE: Best Place To Get RedCat Parts & Most Commonly Broken Parts
I got the Earthquake 3.5 about a month ago and have had to replace the c hubs , servo saver and steering linkage arm. All three parts broke at the same time due to a (IMO) minor hit to the left front wheel. It was45 degreesout that day so I think the coldhad something to do withit breaking so many parts at once. I have also herd from othersthat the c hubs and servosavers break easy even in warm weather.I went with aluminum c hubs and steering link for replacements from RUFASTER.COMbut wasn't able to findthe servo saver in aluminum, so I ordered two plastic ones, it took 3 days to get my parts,RUFASTER has good customer service, cheap prices, fast shipping andstock all Redcat replacement & the MPO# parts. I ordered some shocks from Xenon Project and when I got them the werealldinged up andthe wrong color, I sent them a email and they sent out new ones that day no questions asked and they didn't even want me to shipthe wrong ones back., tookabout 4 days. Hope this helps.

i ordered my car from xenon and had it 1 day b-4 all this broke.
i emailed them so maybe they will send out free parts or something.

RE: Best Place To Get RedCat Parts & Most Commonly Broken Parts
Hey guys,
Wanted to introduce myself on the forum here. I'm slingin' the Redcat lineup here in Boise, Idaho, and happy to serve the great NW and beyond.
I'm fairly new to the Redcat lineup (not to RC though, 15+ yrs in the hobby), and as of now I am sticking selling the Electric lineup including Rock Crawlers, as that's my realm of familiarity and preference. I'm always happy to get your nitro vehicles and parts too. I don't have an interactive parts site, I tend to utilize the Redcat site to locate the correct parts and then order from there.
I like to keep open communication with customers and friends, be it an instant message, text, call on the phone, or having a beer in the shop. Feel free to hit me up with your Redcat needs, We're here to help [sm=shades_smile.gif]

what are you saying?
we can order our own parts from redcats website why would we pay you a premium to order parts for us?
plus there are many sites out there selling redcat parts cheaper than redcats website.
and i didnt want this to be a thread for everyone to spam their website.

"i want to get a list of both these for new commers so they know what they "SHOULD" stock up on and where to get it... "
I will try to keep the unnecessary chit-chat to a minimum as requested
I apologize for not clarifying; of course I would not expect for anyone to pay above and beyond what anyone can get straight from the manufacturer's site. Obviously I am small time compared to some of the other Redcat dealers, so I deal with each case separately and try to be as comprehensive and competitive as possible. Basically what I'm saying is I'm more than just a parts website. I utilize the Redcat site to identify and verify specific parts (everyone can use a computer and google now, so many times I link customers to the actual Redcat site if they hadn't already researched the parts lists and schematics to see what goes with what, etc...)
If you are lucky enough to live in the NW then what I'm saying is I'm happy to personally help out. I see that the Eastern part of the country already has their fair-share of support.
I did not intend for this to be a spam post, and if you would like I would be happy to remove it. I wanted to introduce myself on the forum and in this particular thread.
Respectfully, Joe Ransom

RE: Best Place To Get RedCat Parts & Most Commonly Broken Parts
Thanks for the welcome.
I would like to submit a bit of a list for the Aftershock crowd. This can include the Backdraft and Earthquake as well since they share the platform, although I don't have any personal experience with the two.
1. Check front A-arms for set screw hub hinge pin retainers. Ensure they are tight, or install [link=http://www.redcatracing.com/s.nl/it.A/id.2247/.f]4x4 set screws (BS903-095)[/link] in to retain the hinge pins.
2. I'm not huge on aluminum pieces mixed in with poly, etc, but the [link=http://www.redcatracing.com/s.nl/it.A/id.2176/.f]Front C-hubs (BS903-017)[/link] would be good to get an extra set in the OEM plastic or the [link=http://www.redcatracing.com/s.nl/it.A/id.2298/.f]aluminum upgraded C-hub[/link]
3. Check the center steering drag link, run it like it is 'til it breaks or order up the new replacement with [link=http://www.redcatracing.com/RC-Cars/Redcat-Parts/BS803-010]aluminum center drag link (BS803-010)[/link] and make sure to get the hardware as indicated. This is a brand new part, I was pleasantly surprised when I opened my package expecting to see more black plastic and instead saw some nice blue aluminum.
4. Check the fit of the body (on the Aftershock at least) mine was not mounted properly and under stress. It actually came out of the box cracked so they sent me a free replacement. I kept using that body, just elongated the rear body mount holes to relieve the stress on the body so it could fit the mounts properly. Even though it's beat up, it takes a better hit now that it did originally.
I'll add more if I think if it but that's my list for now.

I wish my local LHSwould get the Redcatline, but they seem too high and mighty to take it on. I may just take my Earthquake 8e down and showthem once I get it back together, and run it around on their track.

yea my lhs is that way to they only carry traxxas hpi and all the big names.
when i go there i buy the basic items and universal items and i match up traxxas and hpi parts that i can use on the redcat.
i used a traxxas spur gear and it works perfect and is tough as nails it has 5 less teeth but is the same exact size.
i ordered new spurs from redcat and when i got them they were way bigger than the one that came with the backdraft 3.5 so my car would go way slower...
so i might just sell them here on this forum
