thats should be enough, check the clutch bell to make sure its steel not aluminum, put a magnet on it to see if it sticks, if it does its steel and good, if not its aluminum and should be replaced.

the richer the better, cant hurt to have too much oil, just need to lean it in a little if it wont stay running.

Well my 30 day warranty just ran out on my new Redcat LCD FM transmitter and wouldnt ya know, its not working anymore. I was so happy to buy an rc so inexspensive, but now I understand why. It will only work if the antenna's are about 5 inches away or it makes the servos all jumpy and erradic. If I hold it a couple of feet away it doesnt do anything. And yes, brand new batteries all around and antenna is tight. If your buying a pro model with new lcd radio, plan on getting a new radio package. I've ordered a Futaba 3PM and it comes a 1 year warranty. Dont get me wrong the car is great, very fast and jumps great. Redcat obviously knows thier radio's are junk or they would have a longer warranty. If you buy one use it a lot in the first 30 days so you will have time to replace it when it breaks. I feel like Redcat is a lot like Kia and Hyundai, at first they were junk with slow improvement over the years. Lets hope they can step up to the ranks of the big boys.:D

all rtr radios are not the best, most rc manufacturers dont give any warranty on the radio system, if it breaks a week after you bought it, your beat.

so ehroof you said that if a magnet sticks to the clutch i should be ok. well the magnet doesn't stick (its a weak magnet) but i'm not sure if its steel or not.
it's the 2007 version with the chrome weels and all.

ehroof 01-15-2008 10:42 AM

RE: Redcat Racing Tornado Thread

you mean the clutch bell, not the clutch shoes right? I am suprised, it should stick, i am pretty sure all the newer models have steel clutch bells, make sure your magnet sticks to something else that is steel.

rc rock 01-15-2008 10:50 AM

RE: Redcat Racing Tornado Thread

ok it's steel. the magnet wasn't strong enough
i'd hate to have to buy a clutch bell, were i live rc's aren't cheap
clutch bell is about $50

its beautiful there, you should become a hobby dealer there if you can sell clutch bells for $50

rc rock 01-15-2008 12:03 PM

RE: Redcat Racing Tornado Thread

yea but if you think about that it doesn't sound that good if you consider that everything is more expensive(although there are a lot of hobbyist).
ex: just paid $21 for 12 alkaline batterys seemed extremely reasonable
(plus i'm just 14)
here is the link to the rc car club here http://www.nitro.com.cy which is also the hobby dealer...
(actualy the clutch bell is $39.99)
just gave them a call
