Personally I like MORE POWER so I would upgrade it but see if it runs and if it isn't fast enough for you its possible to upgrade it.

First thing I would do is inspect the car and see if you have any missing parts. As for upgrades you can beef up the shocks if you like you can put swing shafts instead of the regular shafts the list...

i see what u mean my pull start is crap and its broken but what i may do for the carb is just use some jb weld and seal it shut because there is not a screw head there so its possible that i can get...
