the gws ICS300 wasn't designed for use with lipo battery. Have low voltage cutoff: 4.2 volt

Your setup are "very fine", powerful and efficient.
For a newbee, it's best a overpowered plane than underpowered: With plenty of reserve power you get the plane out of a jam (or away from a tree)...

to murhah,

Lipo battery are new technology and many ESC available in the market was designed before.
I believe that new ESC models works fine with lipo battery, check with the manufacturer.

Sorry for delays,
Motocalc says 8 amp maximum with stock 300 and 1180 prop or 1280 prop.
So any ESC that handle 10 Amp continuous works fine; and if you use lipo...

Reading the Wattage ESC manual says nothing about voltage cutoff value.
I believe too that the Wattage works only w/nicads. The same with the GWS esc line (3.2 to 4.2 volt).

Is this the right esc?
Have the Wattage IC-10A programmable cutoff or minimum 6 volt fixed cutoff?
I suggest the Castle Creations Pixie ESC w/ programmable cutoff .
You will damage your nice...

I believe that most people prefer the slow stick w/ EPS-300C (geared motor) than w/EDP400 (direct drive). Check post about what version perform better.

There are 3 versions...
