Hi,

That's about right. 20-22lb thrust engine should do well. Figure with the fuel tank it comes with, the weight on that full is about 5-6 lbs.

As far as the metel rods go, one side does stick out further than the other. Always has. All you have to do is cut the longer one to match the shorter one. No problem there.
