An RC Christmas Comic.

Thought this one might be fitting, given the season.

Ok, I am curious though. How many people HAVE purchased RC aircraft for their "kids" ;)

RE: e-flite mini edge 540

Well, a few posts back referred to the Edge as a flying turd.

That being the case, I finally cartwheeled my turd down the runway. Tip-stalled while trying to bring her in to land. Apparently...

RE: Hovering. Hard or easy?

Dag Nabbit! Ok, I'm officially putting hovering into the hard category, regardless of what I see here :-)

Whilst practicing my hovering, I crashed my beloved Mini Edge. What's really sad, is...

RE: 2 Shotguns vs. RC Airplane

Aw, heck. All of us have at least one plane that has about exceeded the epoxy to balsa ratio for too many previous mishaps. Think of it as a way for your retired plane to go out in a blaze of...

2 Shotguns vs. RC Airplane

I just had to run this by someone to find out if this would be a neat event, or completely irresponsible and crazy. I've gone back and forth.

I heard some guys down at the LHS talking about...

RE: Aviation Models 35% Yak Build

Wahoo!! I've always wanted a Yak, and have come within a hair of bringing one to the workbench a couple times. Please do keep the build pics coming. No matter how good the manufacturer is, there...

RE: Pull-Pull set-up pics

I second that. I've even had the slippage problem on much smaller-scale planes, where you wouldn't think there was enough forces to cause it. CA alway took care of it. Nice setup by the way!!

RE: Engine cut out at full throttle

Could be one of two things.

1) Your ESC will cut off your motor when the voltage drops to a certain point. Normally this functionality is there to tell you your about to run out of juice, so...

Is there an "electric" smoke system?

Is there any kind of commercially available smoke system available for electric planes? I have no idea how this would work, but just curious if something had been invented. Perhaps some kind of hot...

RE: Hovering. Hard or easy?

Thanks for the great info!!! It helps a lot to know it's not supposed to be easy.

Hovering. Hard or easy?

Ok, I have an e-flite mini edge 540. I am just learning 3d. I can't seem to get this to hover. I just want to know, is this simply a difficult maneuver that takes practice, or do I have something...

RE: Flaperons on Mini Edge 540?

I set up the flaperons on mine and flew it today. It seems to have slowed things down a bit, but not extremely noticeably. I didn't bounce quite as hard. Not sure if it's because of the flaps, or...

RE: e-flite mini edge 540

Scott, the mounting area on the Edge seems pretty sturdy. I've landed hard several times and have not broken this, though I have weakened the carbon fiber gear a lot. It twists and the layers...

Flaperons on Mini Edge 540?

I have an e-flite Mini Edge 540. Fun little plane, but lands at about mach 2. I'll be darned if I can set her down without a good bounce.

My radio is capable of using Flaperons, where the two...

RE: Big mistake wiring my brushless motor

Dr. Death - Thanks for the feedback. Very encouraging to think this plane may fly after all. Can I ask what gear ratio and prop you have? I want a rocket too! :-)

RE: Turning brake off on E-flite 20A

I have a 25A esc, not sure if this will work for you, but I had a similar problem.

The key to getting mine into programming mode is to turn on the radion FIRST. Then throttle your radio to full...

Does size matter?

Ok. I know this question has probably been asked 4000 times, but I honestly can't find it. So, here's post # 4001.

I have a 400 size BRUSHED motor. I want to go brushless to be cool like the...

RE: Tail Dragger AARRGGHH!!!!

Thanks for the feedback.

I think there is a little too much friction in the wheels as well. I have washers between the wheel pants and wheels. they spin easily, but not completely free, i.e....
