Bummer you had trouble & damaged your plane. You are right the smaller lighter planes are a little harder to damage crashing than something larger and heavier.

Well, heres the scoop on that! Yes you can sand them down together and eliminate the gasket all together. But, it must be perfect or you will loose power & performance, not to mention a mess of oil...

Fisrt off, the outside temp, your altitude, the humidity ect. have influence on your tuning!!!
You need to find your own "Sweet Spot" for your conditions. Then the adjustments will be minor one...
