RE: Engine gets really hot

Leaning will cause the engine to run on-off-on-off. The leaner it is the longer te on-off periods.
Diesels do get hot yes, its not that they run cold or so.
I agree with most of Jim 's cooment,...

RE: MEK vs MEKP

Bondo 912 has approx 30/40% MEKP, the rest is Dimethyil Phthalate. Dunno what it is, but I use butanox 50 wich has the same contents in same percentages. It works for me.

RE: Spring starter usefull on quadra 45 ?

Thanks guy's,

Usefull feedback. I tested the quadra today, and indeed the best starting timing is about 4 to 6 degrees.
No kick back, two primes with ignition off and one flick does the job....

RE: 500 rpm between bigger and smaller propeller

Thanks !

Got the picture. Still, is the faceplate fixed to the chuck with (just) one bolt ?
Probably not applicable to high rpm (inbalance)

Cherio !

RE: Dieseling a ZDZ 40

Rear exhaust it is. Motor has very high compression as is, hard tot turn shaft by hand alone.
Due to the relativel small size of the cilinder, i can mill a head on my own lathe.

I have three (newer) magnums and this is my experience too. Especially in the idle area.
