RE: Electric Plane Smoke Systems

You can ignite the cartridge with a lighter, as you can see in a video few posts above. Besides, you don’t need a second battery to operate remote ignition. You can use this switch

RE: Mamo Upsidedown on a Nippel questions

Hi

Mamo upsidedown unit needs to be mounted on a shaft. I don’t know if this motor has a shaft sticking out the back.
On my previous setup I had about 1/3 of thrust loss between APC prop and...

RE: stupid question, can i use forward and reserve esc instead of vpp

If you open the pitch too much you will not get much of a thrust. I set the pitch curve end point between one and two amps over specified max current for the motor. This way I got the most thrust

RE: stupid question, can i use forward and reserve esc instead of vpp

Well like I said fast RPM response is very important. Governor mode is not necessary because it is better to set up throttle and pitch curve on a transmitter for 4D and another setting for 3D or for...

RE: stupid question, can i use forward and reserve esc instead of vpp

1. Reactions would be too slow.
2. Spinning a propeller backwards would not produce same thrust as forward.
Even with VPP unit ESC has to have a very quick response to instantly adapt the RPM to...

RE: Electric Plane Smoke Systems

If you install smoke cartridge 1in or even a little less from the fuselage and fly during smoker burning your plane is safe. Mine in still unburned after about 15 smokers.

RE: Electric Plane Smoke Systems

I'm using AX9 (9g) on my foamy Edge, but currently I’m lighting them with a lighter (no fuse). It takes some time to light. I already got the electric fuse, but I don’t have the RC ignition...

RE: Flying using a VPP system - switch or lever

No. Throttle stick should control the pitch.

Forward stick position = forward pitch
center position = 0 pitch
Back position = reverse

RE: why don't many people fly 4d?

Well I stopped counting how many vpp props I destroyed. I eaven maneged to fix a few of them. Now I bought a Mamo Upsidedown system which has all the mechanism behind the prop. This one will probably...

RE: why don't many people fly 4d?

I agree it is pain to set up and it takes a lot of practice too. But when you finally preform a nice inverted hover or a completely new manoeuvre, then all the trouble and effort is repaid. 4D is the...

RE: rc smoke on mini funtana

I'm useing 0,3oz (9g) Quest smoke cartridges (same as Hobby Lobby smoke cartridges) on my 10,9oz (310g) Edge 540T. They burn for about 90s. I flew at a model airshow and most people thought that my...
