That makes sense, with as much power that these modern trucks are putting out, you'd think the manufacturers would realize this. The compounds are great, but they're so pliable the excessive...

Dromida's?

I ordered one of these little brushless short course trucks. Most of the vids on them make them appear to be pretty durable and quite fast. I liked the upgrade options as well. They seem to be...

Thanks,

My slash 4x4 is surviving pretty well, on 2 s I don't see any wear on the drive shaft joint holes. The 4x4 stampede seems to be eating them, even with 50C 2 cells the rear axles don't live...

Thanks. I figured if I use good throttle management the stock set-up should be fine on 3S, I just like to build the stuff bullet proof. What about driveshaft and diff's?

Drivetrain Upgrades

What are the basic drivetrain upgrades to run 3S on Traxxas Slash and Stampede 4X4's?, I don't need bling, just want them to stay together and handle the power.

Grass is cut with some hardpack I checked the motor after about 15 min and it was around 145F with 2 cells. Did the 72 chevy body in competition orange, much easier to see.

Holiday Bashers

Just picked up the Stampede VXL, so far it's pretty good, not quite as fast or as good a handling as the slash 4X4 but respectable. I gotta get a 60's pick-up body on the thing with some color, the...

The TSM is very nice for bashing (which it what I use this for), it seems like basically a gyro sensitized to the rear end and smoothes things out nicely on wet grass etc. I don't know if I would...

It may be the slipper clutch is too loose. Pull the gearbox cover off and tighten the bolt with the spring some with the wrench that came with it. A brushless motor would be a good option.

A New Slash

Been out of this for around 6 years or so, did a lot of SC racing in the past and knew how durable the venerable Traxxas Slash is so I picked up a new one for bashing. These things are just as good...

RE: Gear Ratio For Sand?

They are fun in the sand with the paddles, last one I set up was a nitro, and things get pretty dirty and grindy, the electrics seem better suited for this.

RE: Gear Ratio For Sand?

Thanks, I did a 16/86 set-up and it seems to run very cool and scoots across the sand pretty good, nice little rooster tail, I'll probably put a big Castle system in it with a 3 cell in it...

Gear Ratio For Sand?

Been out of cars a while, what would be a good pi/spur for my stock bandit with 2.2 paddles? Just looking to scoot as fast as possible at the beach without frying the stock motor and esc. Don't want...

RE: sitrep on VMX 450?

I've had one for a few months, driving the machine is challenging, but once you get the hang of it it's prettyy fast, handles terrain quite well, and at speed ,the wobbling goes away. It's pretty...

Which turnbuckles are you guys using on the pede? I used Salsh's in front and they work OK, but I have to extend those out too much to work on the rear.

RE: Official Rustler Thread

The Pro-Line's hook up pretty good on the clay, as with any 2 wheel drive racer you have to be carefull on the throttle, and plan your slides well. It will pass 4 wheel drive Slash's on the straights...

RE: Official Rustler Thread

Thanks for the info, I'll try some of that. The VXL power is good, but you can't even use it on the track, it'll just spin. Definitely have to do a lot of tweaking on this one.
