I've also learned a lot over the last 4 or so years since I mooded that picco thanks to Skillet, so it's not much of a comparison lol. You have a truck and the engine so put your money where your...

RE: rich but running hot?

Depending on how much fuel you ran for break-in, it's possible that the pinch is still a little tight and that will make it run a little hotter until it's fully broken-in. I also agree with nitro...

RE: Heat cycling

Your theory may be relative and doable with rtr engines that have butter soft pistons and cheap chrome. But try that with a high end engine and you will find it simply doesn't work like that, the...

RE: Heat cycling

I wasn't referring to the other links, only the link that was in my reply. You should never set an off-road engine to operating rpm for break-in, the heat generated from the friction and the load put...

RE: Heat cycling

That bench was designed to be gear drive so you could reduce the speed of the propeller while still achieving full rpm capabilities quite easily. It also has the clutch engagement so when your at...

RE: Locating

If the threads are still on the shaft then you could use something like this.

RE: SAVAGE KEEPS FLOODING

Lean the LSN until the engine will idle consistently, it's running too rich with the factory settings.

RE: Re: Nitro Savage Speed truck

Well James, you should know by now that if you call me out your going to get a reply, but I'm sure you were hoping for that. You keep telling people that I haven't run my savage in 2+ years, well...

RE: Re: Nitro Savage Speed truck

While I admit that my human side forgets to turn the other cheek sometimes, I have to agree with what you said Neal.

RE: Re: Nitro Savage Speed truck

Hey sunshine, nice looking truck. But on a slightly different note, how about you show this picture to Rick and ask him again how my pipes can cause ANY sort of engine damage. I think the picture is...

RE: It was only a matter of time.....

Why would you need a new crank? you should only need a rod and bearings for a rebuild so it shouldn't be too bad.

RE: It was only a matter of time.....

I did a quick calculation one day and the rough estimate I came up with was about 3,000,000 revolutions per gallon on a .28 sized engine. If you think of it like that, then it shouldn't be hard to...

RE: It was only a matter of time.....

Take an old Italian engine crank, and an old Taiwan crank and try grinding on them, you will instantly see that what Neal is saying is 100% the truth. As for the pistons, bearings and rods, it's the...

RE: After-market Air Filter

Here is a comparison between the motor saver (left) hpi (center) and a random filter I did a while ago. IMO the motor saver will protect just as well as the hpi but it has a substantial gain in air...

RE: Blur engine madness

Not sure what style of carb you have but the one below is how most slide carbs are set up.

RE: Best engine

The thing your forgetting is that the LSN only controls low speed rpm (IE Idle) so you can lean it out and have no effect on the top end. If the engine is loading up then you can lean the LSN and...
