I now realize that battery pack I linked is probably 2x's the weight allowable in this type of plane. oops!

I like the easy star because of it's motor/prop layout. When I crash it will have less chance of damage.

Now to choose the components for the base kit.

Thanks for the reply. $200 doesn't sound all that bad for what you get. What about the Plane though? What is the "ideal" setup with the easy star as far as battery and speed control is concerned?

I suppose I could build a boat. There is a neat thread floating around somewhere with a guy building a airboat out of two plane floats. That looked kinda neat!

I'm looking at getting into the sport of flying and the Easy Star from Multiplex sounds like the way to go. On Tower hobbies website they offer it in 3 different "kits".

Well the old Tempest by Flitecraft is shot... I think the plastic they made the boat from isn't resistant to glow fuel or something. Where ever there was fuel the plastic cracked real easy.

flyinrog- I don't think they offer a ARF LT-25 kit. I see they do with a LT-40 though. Good to hear they both make good floater planes.

It's down to either the LT-25 or LT-40 kit. Sounds like both planes would be great beginners. One more thing I though about is floats... I visit pops cabin in the summer and would think it would...

After thinking it over I'm leaning a bit towards the ARF kits. Chances are my first plane is going to take more than one digger. I think It would "hurt" less if I wrecked a plane that I just bought...
