Tommy is right mate.
the forward and reverse works in exactly the same way as the shift poitn for 2nd. when the whole tranny gets to the right rpm, then a little "peg" flicks out of the output...

Since I've built it I've blown:
two second speed gears,
the shifter ring,
exploded three rear diff cases
two tranny cases
and countless rear...

the brakes aren't the strongest in the world, but I don't really drive it fast. I like mud and climbs etc not into jumping. The nitro wouldn't idle any where near long enough for my style of driving...

I ended up using a hpi baja bug steering servo for my brakes and throttle. I can now flip it over if I want to and that's on standard disk and pads and it's stopping a 25cc strimmer engine!!

ok,

I think the electric stampede tranny has the input for the gears running in the same direction as the wheels (across the truck rather than up and down) whereas the t-maxx tranny runs up and...

im guessing so if they have a shifter ring. look at the second gear and see if its the same setup as the traxas tranny.

oh just on a side note for thoe who want to run a t-maxx tranny with reverse, as well as switching the internal one way bearing and shifter ring you also need to reverse the two final drive gears.

Absolutely over the moon with it, it was running constantly for about 2 1/2 hours with out cutting out once!!! something unheard of with the nitro [:@]

I have searched and found one answer but i lost it and can't find it again.
