RE: G20Ei is the best!!

I lost the engine off the USL on Sunday, it took the fiewall with it. I think I shed a blade and with the extreme vibration the firewall gave up and departed, the USL will glide without the engine,...

RE: G20Ei is the best!!

I maidened a Seagull Yak with a new G20ei today, and comparing the initial flights to the USL the Yak is much more sensitive to control inputs, being a little heavier(5-6 oz) I was surprised to fing...

RE: Recommended plane for the G20ei?

Maidened the Yak this morning in a healthy crosswind, after all, one can never maiden with a wind down the runway , or, heaven forbid no wind at all. All went well, compared to the ultra stick the...

RE: Recommended plane for the G20ei?

I put a new G20ei on the Yak, after balancing for the Gof G I gassed the plane and ran the motor to set idle etc., the Zenoah started right up and ran like a champ. The big gasser makers could use a...

RE: Recommended plane for the G20ei?

I think something is lost in the translation, the manual is obviously written by a non flyer, I can not believe Horizon Hobby does not correct the flaw.

RE: Recommended plane for the G20ei?

TKG, thanks, the instructions said 7-8 cm from the ledging edge at the wing tip, that appeared to me to be too far to the rear, the tube sounds good.

RE: Recommended plane for the G20ei?

The servos go in their normal spots, the fuel tank, I used a 10 oz heli tank at the cg, the ignition box and ignition battery lay side by side using velcro where the tank would usually go normally...

RE: Recommended plane for the G20ei?

The 20 will fly the USL just fine, with a 16x4W it will hover, I have also tryed a 16x6 but the 16x4 pulled a little better, when the 20 is broke in it will rip the prop. I went with flaps with crow...

RE: Recommended plane for the G20ei?

tkg, I am in the assembly process with the Seagull Yak and G20ei. As I am at sea level I will stay with the stock exhaust and will be using a 16x4W. What servos did you use, I have some 5985's left...

RE: G20Ei is the best!!

The weight of my ULS at 9# +- 4 oz must not be accurate, I . It must weigh more than that. The hover for my plane is the best with the 16x4W with the 16x6 it is faster but with slightly less pull...

RE: G20Ei is the best!!

You are the second person that has had a 16x4W APC come apart at the hub, the other one which I have seen had separation under the thrust washer, scary.

RE: G20Ei is the best!!

Your specs are showing the 16x6 at 44mph and the 16x4W at 56mph, doing the calculations show 16x6 at 9000 produces 54,000"/min and the 16x4W produces 36,880"/min, not considering slip it would appear...

RE: G20Ei is the best!!

We are close in set up, I am running a 10 oz raptor heli tank which is on the cg, no cg change issues as the tank burns off which takes forever, these 20's are misers on fuel. Battery wise I run 1...

RE: G20Ei is the best!!

If the Brillelli26 will start and run and tune as easily as the Zenoah, is the same weight or less, and produce more power on the same or less gas then it is in the game, I do not have any experience...

RE: G20Ei is the best!!

These Zenoahs are low compression motors at less than 9-1 ratio, 87 octane will be as effective as 93 so you are correct. High octane is reguired in motors with high compressions over 10-1 to prevent...

RE: G20Ei is the best!!

I do not dispute wideglides findings, it is just 2-stroke motors respond to exhaust tuning as opposed to timing advance.

RE: G20Ei is the best!!

The g20ei has about 5 gallons through it, more than enough time to break in. I find it hard to believe that a timing change can make 6-800 rpm with a stock muffler.

RE: G20Ei is the best!!

I am only getting 9220 rpm on the APC 16x4W, was expecting 9800. The pull is slightly better than the 16x6 APC, not unlimited vertical, will hover with work. This is on a Ultra stick Lite stock set...

RE: Recommended plane for the G20ei?

I tryed the 16x4w and did get an increase in rpm up to 9220, not the 98000 that I was expecting. Hot sure what to think on this one.

RE: G20Ei is the best!!

Wideglide, was the 9800 rpm before or after the sensor adjustment to advance the timing?

RE: G20ei @ hangar9 hellcat?

Bama, are you having any problems with the stock retracts, is the wire stiff enough or do they bend over like the old p-51? Which retract servo are you using? I also do not see the blue and yellow...

Did you use the stock exhaust, also, did you have tail flutter?
