550 Size Bell 206 Jet Ranger

Here's my semi-scale heli. Finally finished building her last year. Still tweaking things here and there. She flies great!

If you can find a used Futaba GY401 then you will love it. I had one on my B400 and it was the last gyro I ever needed.

EBay and the forum classifieds are probably your best bet for parts these...

Yes, mine does that too.
Be careful, even if you have throttle hold on pressing the panic button will cause the rotors to start spinning.

Thanks for the tip!
So far they seem to be okay - I'll keep an eye out for any flakiness.
Good luck with your mCPX :)

Anyone flying the mCP S ?

I got one last month and just passed my 100th flight with it. Been doing lots of inverted practice.

Just wondering if there's any activity here with this heli ...

RE: Hello - Anyone still active here ?

Great! I have an Swift NX (built last year) and just recently built a Swift 16 (first flight was last Monday). Also have another complete NX in spare parts, and lots of other spare parts.

Just...

Hello - Anyone still active here ?

Just checking to see if anyone still checks in here regarding Century Swift electric helicopters.

Thanks!

RE: Hirobo SRB Quark

No, the Quark will auto-stabilize too, just like the mSR. I don't have an SR120, but if it's anything like the mSR then you probably won't like the Quark.

But, the Quark has adjustments in the...

RE: Hirobo SRB Quark

Hey Jason, I really don't think it matters since all of the mixing and adjustments are actually done on the Quark's control unit not on the transmitter. Many people have also successfully used the...

RE: Hirobo SRB Quark

The Quark with radio comes with a Futaba 4YBF-72, or similar, like this http://www.futaba-rc.com/radios/futj40.html

RE: Hirobo Quark has suddenly lost lift

Older revision - how did you find that out? I wonder what else is wrong with "older revision" Quarks. Mine has tail and radio problems, but this is the first I've heard of an older revision, even...

RE: Hirobo SRB Quark Forum: Photos Q&A

I agree with this - I'm sure Hirobo is well aware that as soon as a 2.4G version is available the FM version will instantly drop dead unless it undergoes a substantial price cut. Their need to keep...

RE: Hirobo SRB Quark Forum: Photos Q&A

Just flew two packs outside with the Rx dangling full length (25"). It didn't seem to do any worse than wrapped & 12" dangle (default). Still had to point the Tx antenna down for best range...

RE: Hirobo SRB Quark Forum: Photos Q&A

Tx testing ... Tried a JR7202 with the same results - twitching after around 30 feet or so. Appears the Tx is not the cause. Wonder if unwrapping the Rx antenna wire and letting it dangle full length...

RE: Hirobo SRB Quark Forum: Photos Q&A

Yea, it was a bit hard to see - to the point of making me uncomfortable. Luckily it was moving fast away from me, so I knew it's direction. Had it been in a hover for a few seconds Iprobably would...

RE: Hirobo SRB Quark Forum: Photos Q&A

Thanks TTMT. I'm going to try some other Tx's today - a fellow forum member in my area has offered to do some testing today, very kind of him.

But, I flew the Quark about 150-200 feet from me...

RE: Hirobo SRB Quark

Interesting. Seems like everybody holds the Tx differently, with (obviously) different results.

Well, for mine anyway, pointing it up (or upward) only gets me about 30 feet of range. Pointing it...

RE: Hirobo SRB Quark Forum: Photos Q&A

Maybe a stupid question, but how do you guys hold your Tx when flying the Quark? Antenna pointing towards the sky (up) or towards the ground (down) or somewhere in the middle?

I only ask because...

RE: Hirobo Quark onboard camera...yes!

Nice. How did you have it mounted - it looks like it's sideways or something.

How's the video quality directly from the camera? (not of the one on youtube - I know the compression required...

Cool! What kind of camera are you using? How did you mount it?

Is there sound?

RE: Hirobo SRB Quark

Can you increase the pitch of the blades? This should create more lifting power. But, in doing so, the motor will have to work harder and will drain a given battery sooner, so you'll probably also...

RE: Hirobo SRB Quark

Well, put the servo balls back - too dull, even for me. Now I'm outside practicing my nose-in hovers (remember to breathe!). It's a bit twichy outside - I wonder if there is interference on my...

RE: Hirobo SRB Quark

Yep - moving the balls in definitely dulled the cyclic down (now I'm not crashing into the lamp, table, wife, etc.). Still haven't tried the tail rotor adjustment yet - will soon. I'll be returning...
