JR 12x Flight Mode transition issue.

I ended up with a JR 12x and have a question on flight mode priorities. I’m using all 5 flight modes (3 native, plus the 2 additional). The switches are all setup in Device Select menu and most...

RE: Transmitter Case and fit with 8FG- 12FG

When inserting the handle first it simply jams the foam walls out of the way.
The wording in the promotion add said "get a Free CUSTOM CASE"
I realize it's not a custom fit for the 12 FG, bug...

Transmitter Case and fit with 8FG- 12FG

Futaba just had a promotional deal where you get a free aluminum case with a radio purchase.
I was lured in, and decided to purchase a 12 FG and get the nice case to protect my investment.
The...

RE: New Radio's Antenna Question

EXACTLY !!!!!!! How you hold the transmitter is everything. Some people use body english; I don't. It's alway flat and my shoulders stay perfectly parallel to the flight line (IMAC flying). ...

RE: New Radio's Antenna Question

I have flown a Futaba TM8 module in a 9C for about 4 years. I have always had the antenna pointed slightly down and strait in front.
Never had a problem, but since I lost a 40% Extra to RF...

RE: New Radio's Antenna Question

By pointing down, I was referring to a 45 degree down angle toward the front. This would never put the aircraft in the "silent area" unless the TX was held up. Most manufacturers are vague on...

RE: New Radio's Antenna Question

Is this thread dead? When searching for a new radio, it's been an interesting read.
I noticed most of the discussion was to orient an antenna sideways or vertical, but there is not much mention...

RE: OMG…just weighed my AW planes

You will rarely get an ARF to come in at the advertised weight. Built up kits are a bit different and have a lot more variables. You typically want to add around 5-8% to highest advertised weight...

RE: Structural Wing Failure; your opinion

The only fact that you are not getting is the mfg name. I was simply soliciting opinions. Shoot me a PM if you want full details. There's no need to treat it as some sort of conspiracy.

RE: Structural Wing Failure; your opinion

Sure no problem. Sheer webbing had correct grain. Perpendicular to the spars. What's interesting to note, is that there was also secondary sheer webbing butted against the primary balsa sheer...

RE: Structural Wing Failure; your opinion

It's kind of disappointing that these 150cc ARFs are only built to withstand 100-200 flights before their useful life has expired. This plane had a 3 month service life. 100 flights is really not...

Structural Wing Failure; your opinion

I recently had a wing failure on a giant scale aerobatic ARF. The plane had its first flight in early May of 2010 and was in service until late July 2010. It had 100 flights on it and it flew well,...

RE: What is customer support?

In every industry, there has to be a "BEST" vendor. Smart-Fly has the "Best RC Electronics" vendor title locked up!
Mr Ritchey has devoted thousands of hours of intense work into developing these...

AFPD came with square Futaba connector

I just purchased Aerofly professional Deluxe and was kind of disappointed to find out I can't use it on my transmitters. On the back of the box, it states, "USB interface cable for all transmitter...

RE: Aero-Works New 60-90 extra - has ANYONE flown? OR other recomendations

I just finished my AW 260 .90 and put 7 flights on it yesterday. It's powered with an OS .91FX 2 stroke. The power is good with a .90 size two stroke, but you will have to perform a modification to...

RE: WHAT'S WRONG WITH NITROPLANES.COM?

I certainly have no complaint about the quality of the models or delivery time. In this case, I was simply shipped the wrong model and paid $10 too much for it. Last week I ordered the “White...

RE: PBX X-Box flyer with VTOL feet

Hey Tom,
I remeber the Ken Hux craft.

My hovercraft had packing foam material at the ends of the carbon landing legs. Castering wheels might be weight prohibitive. The gyro may be my next...

RE: PBX flyer with feet

I think my problem is that I only made it with one rudder on top. Most other PBX builders have put a rudder both top and bottom. The problem I am having with the single rudder is that it induces a...

RE: Medford Oregon IMAC Challenge

10-12 from NorCal ? Wow.
This could rival some SCAT contests :)
