RE: Airplane rudder gyro

Good job M. Are you Matt L.? If you are, you just attended a meeting at WFC.

I have not tested the gyro in the field/air yet, but both on the test rig and in the airframe, it seems to work OK....

RE: Airplane rudder gyro

Ken, you bet. It just won't be for awhile. All my hobby time is spent in my basement hobby room, NEAR THE FURNACE (it's 78 degrees in my hobby roomI will NEVER leave until Spring.) I did however,...

RE: Airplane rudder gyro

Whoa, hit the wrong buttom and sent off too early!!

As for the trail take-offs, that sure is a good idea. I will be sure too try a few to determine the gain setting. Right now my TX is set-up...

RE: Airplane rudder gyro

Thanks Andy, My concern with the engine out is that I do not know it is happening until it's too late. Flying at a lot of IMAA events, you soon realize that there are plenty of other planes in the...

SNOW! I'll tell you about snow. Here in New England, that's pretty much all it does for 5 months or so a year. I am thinking about moving South, where it snows once a year or never!

RE: Airplane rudder gyro

Ken, I believe you completely. It's so unusual that both JR and Futaba guys say don't use the AVCS for airplanes except for maybe 3D flying. I think that when you use AVCS, if you do not touch the...

RE: Airplane rudder gyro

Well, it seems no one has information on JR's so I contacted a Horizon guy that really knows his radio stuff.

He helped me set up my TX and strongly cautioned me not to use AVCS when flying...

RE: Airplane rudder gyro

Andy, I have already purchased a couple of 401's for my D-18 and a Tigermoth. Can you make any suggestions relative to a twin for take-offs and engine out situations? Also, did you mean 2 gyros in...

RE: Airplane rudder gyro

Thanks Ken, Take off in AVCS, switch to rate mode for normal flight. Maybe someone here will kick in with JR experience.

I did hear from Hobby Services/Futaba. There's a nice guy over there...

RE: Airplane rudder gyro

Guys,

I have been reading this post with great interest. I had a fair amount of problems last year getting my Ziroli Twin Beech D-18 with G-38's off the runway in a straight line. The...

RE: AMR 33% Waco YMF-5 Build

Anthony,

This is a great thread so far and I am enjoying your build. As we discussed earlier, I am "rebuilding" a Genesis 33% WACO and trying to scale out as much of the plane as I can over the...

RE: H9 Cessna 182--Evo 26GT--3 blade prop

Thanks for the help guys. Brett, who was the manufacturer of that 3 blade 16 X 8 prop you flew? For a three blader it looks like it should be a 16 X 8 or a 17 X 6 from the general consensus. I am...
