RE: Best all around 3d prop for chinn yak..one with saito 82 other o.s. 55 ax

For 3-d almost everyone uses pich of 3.75 to 6. For 40 size planes with 2-strokes I use 3.75 or 4 pitch. For Saito 91 and 100 , I use 6. I want a diameter that allows the engine to rev to about...

RE: Right way to fix wing slop issues

I built a Skeeter 30 from free plans. The fuse cutout was about 1/16" too big for the wind to fit snugly, so I added a layer of 1/16" sheeting 1" wide to the wing and finish sanded to fit. I use...

RE: Hinges

I like ca hinges. I use Radio South hinges (Tower has them), never had one fail other than due to a crash. I have them on Mojo 40, Mojo 60, Mojo 60moass. I installed power point hinges on a Mojo 65...

RE: Recommend 2nd 3D balsa plane

I built my original Skeeter 30 from free plans available online. I flew it for more than a year and had lots of crashes because it is a very quick plane and I am a slow guy. I still have it. I built...

RE: 3d

I thought you were kidding in the 3d forum. Apparently you are serious so here is a straight answer. A Rossi 40 likes to scream - 16,000, 18,000 rpm. 3d is about flying at 1/3 throttle with enough...

RE: Recommend 2nd 3D balsa plane

My favorite 3d electrics are the Hyperion Sniper and the Skeeter 36. Both will do it all and I can't seem to kill them. I run Hacker 20-20 , TP 1320 battery.

RE: UCANDO 3D 46.. What Four Stroke for it?

I flew my UCD 46 with a YS 63 and a OS91 FS. I liked the 91 a little better. Both have enough power. My UCD 46 weighs about 6 lbs. I don't call that a light-weight. It weighs about the same as a...

RE: Saito 125 - first time such a problem!!!

I suggest you submit this on the "glow engines" forum. Those guys love this kind of problem. They don't wander into this 3d flying forum very often.

RE: U Can Do 46 prop?

I have a UCD 46 and have flown it with a YS 63 and a Saito 91. Mine weighs about 6 lbs . Your 55 will produce about 7 lbs of static thrust which will not do much 3d on a 6 lb plane. My Saito...

RE: Saito 100 with 30% Nitro

Did you nitro addicts hear that China is closing the nitro factory we get most of our supply from for several months to clean up the air for the Olympics? I just read about it in another forum.

RE: Best RC simulator to practice 3-D on

I have Aeroflight Pro and Pro Deluxe. Both are great for 3d practice. The GP G4 is good too. None are just like actual planes but are close enough and very good for making stick movements automatic...

RE: I lost a rocker cover from my Saito 91

I was fooled by the list of alpas next to the part did not include K. But since several of you found it in areas devoted to 91 parts I am confident you have the right part. I didn't see next to the...

RE: vertical center of gravity

A low vertical cg will make the plane relatively stable in roll and not tend to fly as you said yours did. I suspect the problem is something else. Like underpowered, flying near stall climbing after...

I lost a rocker cover from my Saito 91

I adjusted the lash on my Saito 91, put the covers back on, went flying without (I guess) tightening the screws. After 2 flights parts started dropping off. I lost 1 cover and 3 screws.I looked in...

RE: Saito 125 props questions?

I have my Saito 125 on a Mojo 65. The plane weighs 8 lbs. The 125 with a 16x6 prop works fine for 3d flying with my setup. I run a 15x6 on my Saito 100.

RE: Prop selection

I fly a Mojo 60 with a Saito 91, 14x6 or 15x4w. The 91 is plenty for a 5 1/2 lb plane for me. I have a Mojo 40 with an OS 50, 12.25x3.75 prop. I have a Saito 100 on a Razoryak, 15x6 prop. And a Saito...

RE: What balsa plane for hacker a20-20l ?

I am flying a Skeeter 36 with a Hacker A20. It is the best 3d electric I have flown. Its a profile and a kit, so 90% of you won't like it. I also have an AirfoilZ Yak, Copperhead Extra, 3d Foamy...

RE: Prop Selection

Several guys in the "Glow engines" section are Enya fans. There are Enya threads there. Enyas are fine engines from what I read, just hard to get in the US.

RE: Dual Rates / Mixing / Throws

Most 3d fliers set controls to get in the range of 45 degrees throw at "high rates". They then set low rates at something like 60% to get an easily controllabe plane. They take off and land on low...

RE: P Factor and engine offset

The firewall on my UCD 46 is attached with 3 deg right slant relative to the fuse. I thought they were all made that way.
