RE: O.S 1.60FX Owners. Post your tach readings

Use the Graupner 16x8 3-blade. You should get close to 9000 rpm. Thrust will be 15 lb to 16 lb. This prop has 13mm ID hole, so you will need some adapter like a through spinner adapter.

RE: O.S 1.60FX Owners. Post your tach readings

Your 160 FX should get at least 9500 w/ Bolly 19x6.
My ST G2300 gets 9200 rpm with this prop.
My YS 140 DZ gets 10200 rpm with this prop.

Can you clarify "simple pump"? Pump for the engine, or pump for the smoke?

Smoke system?

Hello, did you pump your engine, and use TME smoke system and the smoker nipplet onto the BCM Pitts muffler? I've been thinking of doing it, but haven't gotten motivated enough to do it. Since I need...

O.S 1.60FX Owners. Post your tach readings

This OS shakes a lot when it's over 9000 rpm.

I am considering transporting this engine from my aerobatic plane to a Folke Wulf, swinging MA 16x8 3-blade. Is this the right size, or should I use...

Or do yourself a favor and get the Pro Zinger 18x6. The APC 18x6 is too heavy, causing slow spool up and spool down... kind of like driving uphill in 4th gear, or slowing down downhill in 4th gear...

Take out that Dremel...

and save $40.

I actually got the Dave Brown 3.5" spinner, and Dremeled that thing good. I did have a little mishap and glided the cutter bit over the spinner surface a little. But hey, we are...

Sorry my man, but you will have to cut even more for the APC 18x6W. The 18x6W has very wide chord at the root, so you have to cut more aluminum to both sides. However, its hub is thinner than the...

This starting technique works really well in normal temperature. But ever since I came to Detroit, I sadly had to start using the starter for sub-zero temperatures.

For 4-strokes, I've found that...

Hey there,

I have an unused stock muffler sitting around, as I am using a BCM Pitts. If you are interested, let me know

O.S 1.60FX Owners. Post your tach readings

I once turned the low speed screw in so much that it fell off into the carb. My 1.6 seems to like the low speed screw just a turn or 2 before it will fall off; otherwise, the idle will be rich.

I...

Monkeyhead,

Yes, the OS 1.60 is not exactly spectalur in its throttle response. I've found that using light wood prop will improve its throttle response time.

Pro Zinger 18x8, 5% Omega, 5...
