flying in wind

Anytime you bank sharper to alter the radius of the turn, ANYTIME, you will need more airspeed buffer above stall speed. If the relative motion of the airplane causes it to move in a fashion that...

I don't think I have heard anyone mention yet the fact that the mechanical advantage increases with the 1/cos() of the angle through which the servo arm turns. At the farthest most travel limits of...

Re: Iron Bay Regulator for glow fuel ?

Here is the quote from Iron Bay:

This sounds like it will work with glow fuel just fine. They are just stating that they will replace the diaphram for free if it ever gets mushy from glow...

Why did you learn to fly without an instructor??

I am a natural with airplanes. Fly full scale, flew control line as a kid, flew the ancient Chuck Yeager flight simulator in the standoff mode all the time (like you were standing still watching the...

Re: HMMM

Your example would change the CG of the prop. Any object always rotates exactly aroung its CG. This is true at ANY RPM. An apple floating in the space station, when spun slow, has NO DIFFERENT...

Aileron adjustment

You are describing an aircraft that is set up this way. The only reason that an aircraft, say a Cessna 172, will do as you described is if the elevator has a built in amount of up elevator at the...

Aileron adjustment

Raising or lowering the aileron changes the average incidence angle of the wing. Raising the ailerons means lowering the average incidence angle of the wings, and will cause a more downward pitching...

Phoenix Az. here I come!

I agree. I was stationed at Luke AFB for three years in Phoenix and it was the BEST place to live I had ever visited. Snowskiiing in Flagstaff is 2 hours away, camping in the mountains galore with no...

Will this work instead of glue?

IMHO, you will need SOME sort of adhesion between the coro to prevent torsional loads from sliding the zip ties against thier holes. I have seen someone use the double sided foam tape, and THEN zip...

Why do i need to 'Flash'?

Nope, there is a thread here somewhere in which a chemical engineer, who was involved in the manufacturing process for this type of plastic, sets the record straight about this. It seems that...

Saito FA-100 on U-Can-Do 3D (Inverted Mount)

DO NOT USE THE CRANKCASE VENT. This is a vent. It must be vented to the atmosphere with a sort length of tubing, no more than 6 inches. Use the muffler pressure. When you fill the tank up, get it...

UCD with Saito 100 problem.

I am having a problem with my Saito 100 on my UCD3d. I have had this problem with both a bladder tank, and the regular stock tank, so I know that this is not a tank problem.

I have the engine on...

OS FX.46 performance

Just keep running it rich like you are. Once it is broken in it will "hold" the RPM at full throttle with a leaner mixture. Don't rush it, and it will reward you with a good running, powerful engine.
