djsdoghorsepower numbers are less meaningful, IMO, than the manufacturer's proclaimed recommended prop sizes and associated RPM's. Personally, I've had best success "estimating" engine selection...

djsdog, fooped is absolutely on target with the vibration level decrease on twins. He is also on target with a power decrease with same displacement single and twins.HOWEVER:

DJSDOG-I built one of those a while back. Powered with a 50 cc engine. Flew it great. I think the 45cc would be fine, but don't worry about engine weight too muchwith the short nose you WILL need...

The gap is intentional, in fact there is a specific minimum and maximum gap required. It was a concern of ours also, but in operation there is an inflow of air that passes into the exhaust tube along...

This critter fits into several categories, but one is definetely Jets.
Started with an AMR 33% YMF-5, 740 hours later ended up with 33% size Jimmy Franklin's Jet Waco.....a couple videos here,...

Robert, I just watched the video again, not sure what you saw around the spinner, but there isn't a variable pitch prop on her-would be kinda neat, though......
Those wings are not exactly built...

Just a quick note that our jet powered Waco has now been successfully flown at the XFC competition in Muncie. Terry  (my son) is having a blast flying it. We did move the CG forward from recommended...

My A8 is equipped with the G45 with all the matching accessories from SisT. Weight is right at 26.5 pounds, flies great. Videos on our website, www.djaerotech.com, under "downloads".

Anthony, You'll want to use Epoxy resin for sure-the Polyester stuff WILL attack foam.
