RE: My XL - Whats next?

you could get some of the big bore shocks from a savage flux or the nice aluminum upgrade ones that hpi sells.

another good upgrade would be a brushless conversion for much more power and...

RE: Savage Flux - alternative to Deans?

i've always used deans for everything and they are more than capable of handling almost any 1/8 brushless setup. even in my very amp hungry overgeared truggy, the deans plugs don't even get more than...

RE: Before i buy my new truck

i used to have the savage x 4.6. of all the nitro savages, it comes with the most reliable and powerful engine. even though the xl comes with a bigger engine, it just doesn't rip as good as the f4.6...

RE: HPI/Castle Tork Motor question.

the lst is very big truck and the 2200kv torq is bigger and will run cooler. that 2650 will not last if you gear for anything over 30mph. the 2200 will most likely run cool up to 45mph.

RE: Best budget 2.4Ghz Transmitter and receiver

i have the $25 hobbycity one and i am very impressed with it. i have a BL converted 1/8 buggy that has a ton of gear noise that causes a lot of interference and i CANNOT make this thing glitch. i...

quick blitz question

does the hpi blitz esc work with lipo? i know it will run with lipo, but does it have a built in cutoff? i have heard from some that it does and others that it doesn't. could someone clear this up...

RE: Spektrum DX3 (not 3.0) or Airtronics MX-3

i have a mx-3 (FM) i would be willing to part with. PM me if interested. it works like new. the only flaw is the word "t-maxx" written in sharpie on the top of the battery compartment.

RE: just when you thought 2.4ghz could not get any cheaper.

i have huge issues with range in my savage flux and BL converted CEN matrix with AM and even FM. i just ordered one of these a few days ago. hopefully, i will be able to go farther than 50ft. i have...

RE: Savage Flux Diff Problems

a higher weight oil will also slow down the internal gears, further reducing heat.

RE: Savage Flux Diff Problems

just get a new diff case and be sure to lube up the gears nicely with the grease. if you can, try getting an extra tube or use some automotive grease along with the grease it comes with. i'm guessing...

RE: brushless Emaxx or savage flux?

the diffs in the e-maxx are weaker than even the old savage flux diff gears. i've seen even the new e-maxxs bust diffs on brushed power. there is no reason not to get the flux in this scenario. i...

RE: Running Lipos in Parallel

yes, it would work. you would need 7 parallel adapters. 40c seems a little excessive for that much battery, regardless of what you plan to tun them in. if you are talking about the hobbycity packs,...

RE: Savage Nitro to Brushless Conversion

i recommend you use at least an 18t pinion gear. the flux gearing is the same as 1st gear in the nitro tranny and top speed will be pretty low with that 12t. are you planning on running 4s or 6s?

RE: Just purchased my 1st MT.

i am not a big nitro fan and almost everything i run is brushless now, but i have plenty of nitro experience.

RE: are the SMC 9000mah 2s packs any good?

i've seen a pair puff in a savage flux with stock gearing and tires during a mild run. i've also seen a pack puff in a slash with the mamba max 4600kv setup. all 3 of the packs were the 28c+ 6000mah...

RE: ezrun brushless

that motor is way to fast for 3s. the rotor could shatter or the bearings could give out. even if the motor held up, it would run VERY hot at that speed. that motor is a little fast even fore 2s...

are the SMC 9000mah 2s packs any good?

i am getting a pair of these packs with a truck i bought used from the marketplace. i have heard some pretty bad things about the 4000mah-6000mah packs. i've seen 4 "28c+" 6000mah 2s packs puff in...

RE: Rustler VXL with SPC Lipo?

try the hobbycity lipos. a 5000mah lipo will typically run 30% longer than a 5000mah ni-mh due to efficiency and much lower voltage drop. so, a 5000mah lipo is like a 8000mah ni-mh.

a 2s lipo...

RE: Which lipo to get?

you will be best off with either the 40c flightmax pack, or the 35c turnigy pack. i have a few flightmax packs and a turnigy pack (all 5000s) and i can't complain about either. there's one small...

RE: emaxx lipo questiom

venom batteries suck. they might be the only packs that are as bad as maxcramps. get yourself some nice turnigy packs from hobbycity. they are dirt cheap, but i promise, they are a huge improvement...
