RE: 1/3 Scale J3 Cub engine recommendation

You don't have to reinvent the wheel here... G-62 with a spring starter. Last long time, run all day, proper weight and balance and no ignition battery required and plenty of power. Enjoy!

RE: cessna citation, mooney 231 turbo or mooney porsche

Wayen Siewart seems to be stuck on modeling the Porsche Mooney for some reason. I am a Mooney owner and a Mooniac for sure. But the Porsche Mooney has well less than 100 of them flying in the entire...

RE: Predator b Uav design

Is there a chance to get this thread going again? I am interested in reverse engineering this starting with an engine size of a Zenoah G-26. I want it to be gas as that is all I fly anymore. I would...

RE: cessna citation, mooney 231 turbo or mooney porsche

Actually, the kit (the 88" kit) is based on the Mooney M20K (or F, J) model fuselage. That is the medium length Mooney. (used to be called long body back in the day) They just produced the Porche...

RE: cessna citation, mooney 231 turbo or mooney porsche

Go back to the Aerotech website. They have an 88" Mooney. I just bought the plans with the cowl, windshield, side glass and pre-formed elevator & rudder parts for a reasonable price of $185 shipped....

RE: Gas engine sizes?

Bob,

Your chart says what I was saying. Your chart says: gas = 18,400 BTU per pound. Methanol = 9,500 BTU per pound. Nitro = 5,000 BTU per pound. Of course this does not depict the whole story...

RE: Gas engine sizes?

Bob H.

I know you have forgotten more about RC than I know about RC. But you should review BTU numbers for fuels because you are the expert... of everything. Really... I think you are. Gasoline...

RE: Cessna wants royalties if you build a model of their planes!

A couple of items here...

5487, well thought out reply but I think you missed part of the point I was trying to make. One underlying, and important point to what I was saying was that Cessna has...

RE: Cessna wants royalties if you build a model of their planes!

I hate to fan the flames but Cessna is still producing the C-172 today. I am quite sure that they don't want another company in another country producing for less the same airplane they are trying to...

RE: Cub Color Schemes

I highly recommend a Zenoah G26. I have 3, a Saito 150, a g26 and an L4 with a G38. The Saito sounds nice but pokes oil all over the airplane and I had to notch the firewall for the exhaust. The G26...

RE: Fuel tanks:

A 4C engine needs to be larger to make the same power. I don't think that application to application they are any more fuel efficient. But I am no expert on the comparison. There are some fuel...

RE: Cessna Retracts

I fly an 172RG and I have the POH. It only shows a decent side view. That will show the landing gear in the down position and where the cutouts are for the wheels when the gear comes up. I have...

RE: Ziroli Bearcat

I flew mine with a Quadra-100, It was 37 lbs. Solid feel in flight with no unwanted tendencies. It would slow down well for landings with no flaps. Very stable throughout the envelope. This was my...
