Looking good... I just thought I would give a gear update, I emailed RC4WD about getting Nitro gear packs for the NTK guys here and it was no problem to basicly just subsitute another ball...

Nope, we have tryed the fuel tanks in diffrent places though, stock spot is best, just turn it around

I think the 2.5 balls is what the NTK has, I will have to double check them. I would think the bigger balls a guy has the better and there should be enough room for bigger balls.

BEARING UPGRADE...

One of the most simple upgrades to the ETK/NTK kits is changing out the front wheel bushings and rear hub bushings with bearings. Boca has good ones for the NTK/ETK or other...

We have tryed many diffrent tires here and one of the most popular ones and all around good preformer for the stock wheels is the proline masher.

One other thing I forgot to mention is some of the guys here were trying a ptfe dry lube on the correctly clearanced exposed idler/brake gear which seemed to work great for them. I think I remember...

Another one of the neat things about this NTK kit that some don't know is how simple it's gear train is, For the nitro TK kit MRC used the original ETK designed tranny gears to build the NTK...

The clutch bells on all these kits are a two piece design, the gear teeth are pressed into the bell (this is why we do the bell trick), the clutch bells themselfs are alot bigger than most standard...

Here is a teaser pic of the ETK/NTK test ball diff gear rubber mold and gear I used, the mold release I used did not work well on this plastic so I am going to try another one but it looks like nice...

I found a few more pics of some older mods/tests. At one time we played around with moving things around on the chassis and tryed a few diffrent ideas with the radio trays which did kind of work out...

A while back I even played around with trying to make/copy my own body body bucks and parts so I could vacuform my own parts. I even went as far as buying my own little hobby mill/drill/lath combo...
