Default SuperVee27 Battery + runtime

Ok So I am trying to get a good idea of what size batterys get what kind of runtime one the stock supervee 27 brushless.

so what runtime would you get running these batterys

(of course 2 of them)

1200mah
1400mah
1800mah
2000mah
2400mah
2800mah
3000mah
3200mah
3400mah
3600mah
4000mah
4200mah
4300mah
4500mah

share what you run and what you know!

im more interested in the smaller batterys run time! Dont overexagerate or underexagerate, just a straight foward answer!
Thanks guys!!

Not sure what you have in mind but if you are going to do something like a precise calculation of runtime to cost - forget it. I thought it was as simple as the number on the pack when I started and I wasted money on cheap packs that had relativly high mah values. I get decent run times but they just don't push the boat. Internal resistance and as a sub set, discharge rate is key and it's not labeled on the battery. Save your money and get some quality batteries. Read the battery thread and make an informed choice. If you were going a different direction I appologize but there are too many variables to your answer. (prop, charger, charging habits, flex shaft maint, driving habits - ect.) That said I wouldn't run anything less than 3000 mah. Not worth the time to tape the hatch shut IMO. hope this helps.

On the other hand, if all else was equal then simply divide capacity by a constant to get runtime.

1200mah 2.4 min
1400mah 2.8 min
1800mah 3.6 min
2000mah 4 minutes
2400mah 4.8 min
2800mah 5.6 min
3000mah 6 minutes
3200mah 6.4 min
3400mah 6.8 min
3600mah 7.2 min
4000mah 8 minutes
4200mah 8.4 min
4300mah 8.6 min
4500mah 9 minutes

That's my point though. I don't belive your constant is a constant[:-]. That constant being current, a big variable form one battery to the next, dependant on the chemistry. Ironicly we want current to be high but that shortens the run time given the same capacity. This means that most people are looking for the highest capacity (mah) cells that last the shortest amount of time. (higher discharge rate means better speeds but shorter run). Am I wrong? I want a Supervee that goes 38 mph for 7 minutes more than one that goes 25 mph for 11 minutes. This should be stoped and moved to the SV batt thread anyway. It's still on the first page. Hopefully they are not still talking about Taylors waterproof rock.

I agree. Current is not constant for a 2400mah battery vs IB4200's or any other comparison. The real fact is cheap batteries will not last long if they don't melt everything on the first run. Inefficient cells will run extremely hot leading to instant failure and they will not provide the amount of current demanded by the motor.

Only run IB or at minimum GP cells of at least 3600mah to prevent battery failure.

It doesn't get anymore straight forward.
