Not sure what you are having trouble with Mike. Are you talking about the fuel tank itself in the boat or the fill-bottle sued to fill the tank? My fill bottle I squeeze and stick it into the fuel bottle to fill. And the fuel tank I unscrew the lid...I have a feeling I'm not getting the right question though.

Talk about a coordinated response. That picture of the fuel tank you put up gooycheese, do you have those same mounts because I have different ones.

RE: Thunder Cat 31
Just unscrew the cap on the fuel tank, and pour the fuel in it with the squirt bottle etc.
The tube on the bottle does not attach to the nipple on the tank as that is only for pressurizing the tank from the exhaust (or something like that lol)
I use a bottle that I have that was originally for meguiars wax and compounds that looks just like a ketchup or mustard bottle you would find at a hot dog wagon or whatever. It was free to me, but there cheap and let you control the fuel so that it doesnt get all over the place.
Guess whatever works is good to go.

RE: Thunder Cat 31
My tank doesn't have a fill hole like the one pictured earlier. It has the fuel pickup hose running to the carb, and a pressure line leading to the exhaust, and that's it. There's no hole or screw top (that'd work a lot better). OK - so I gather that there's no way for this fill bottle to work for me, and that I should just disconnect the hose from the carb, stick it in some fuel, and squeeze the tank and let it suck the fuel into the tank. Makes sense. I just thought that being I had this nice little fill bottle that there must be some way to use it.
I think my first stop will be at the hobby store to find a tank with a cap like above.
Thanks for the replies!

OK then there isnt any cap. Sorry to over simplifly things.
You still have several options that I know of at least.
One is to figure a way to attach a small but long enough fuel line to the bottle you have now. Another is to do the same with one of the ketchup type bottles I mentioned earlier. Yet another is locate a plastic fitting (try plumbing or hose supply etc) that is threaded on one end and barbed on the other for attaching a hose of the size you will need, and then drilling out any bottle cap to accept it, and using either nuts and washers or silicone to attach everything together.
I acutally use the last one for my water bottle to run the engine on land and it works pretty well though being water I dont seal it up as well as I would if it was filled with nitro.
Hope something in this stirred up your imagaination enough to help you figure out a solution.

The best is to go back to the hobby shop were you got it from and ask them, that is what they are there for. They haved asked you if you will come rihgt on your your own before you left the shop. I always make a point of telling the customer how things work before they leave my hobby shop. This way you keep every body happy.

RE: Thunder Cat 31
Hi Guys,
Got my TC31 a week ago and ran the motor in on the bench with water feed from container. The motor settings were horribly wrong and after setting the needles could get it to fast idle no problem. Ran 3 tanks before I started leaning out. Noticed that the tank started leaking on the seam. Having trusted Du-Bro tanks with all my other models I bought a 12 Oz tank. Checked the CG of the boat and realised that mounting the tank where the old one was would be altering the CG as tank got empty. On the opposite of the tune pipe the 12 OZ tank fits perfect and right on the CG. As in our racing we turn mostly right this worked out perfectly. Ran the boat on Saturday on 10% Feul for 3 more tanks before I switch to 45% feul. 1/4 Turn richer and the boat got flying with speed in excess of 55 km/h. But at that speed the shaft can't handle it and duely twisted it off.

RE: Thunder Cat 31
Here are some mods I did on my TC31 The header tank from a heli helps that the boat does not lean it self out when the tank gets empty and the cooling pipe on the header lets me run leaner.

This is how a TC 31 should sit in the water. The other boat in the photo is a 17.5 cc tunnel and as you can see not much faster than the cat it took him three laps to cath me and then could not pass.

Hi Mike
Your TC31 looks stunning when can I send mine for a spray job.
Gooycheese, Arrie must have made a typo. Thats actully a 13cc K&B on a 1/5th scale F1 that is being developed in South Africa. Their are also a 1/4 scale with a Zenoah motor being developed.
Arrie
The pictures look great, sorry you dont have any of you and me chasing each other.

55km/h = 34.1mph thats good speed . I am pushing for 45mph or about 70km/h . I have gotten 42mph so far or about 67.5km/h. I think wave is over 40mph too

does it take a while for the tc to get up to speed. every time i run my boat it goes real slow then all the sudden takes off. after a couple of minutes it really starts to take off.
