The ESC plug always goes into channel 2, steering servo goes to channel one.

Just remember "One to turn, two to burn".

Thanks. The vapor had 2 plugs that went to the reciever and the mamba only has one. So what was the third one for?

How much run time are you guys roughly getting on 2S and 3S lipos? I am just trying to figure out how many to pick up when I get my XS.

ThunderbirdJunkie presumes that the Vapor Pro has a Castle 10a BEC hidden in its case, and that plug was for the BEC; which would explain the reason behind this being the only Castle car speed control that doesn't have a switch.

Because of potential warranty concerns, ThunderbirdJunkie has yet to do any exploratory surgery on the ESC to find out if he finds 10a Castle BEC innards inside the case.

Lets keep it simple: ESC Wire is 3 wires (White Red and Black) and goes to Channel 2
The 2 wire lead going to CB is just the fan that sits on top of the ESC.

Hm. Never thought about the fan. ThunderbirdJunkie's MMM and RX8 don't plug into the RECEIVER for the fan 'Cuz, like, there are ZERO other speedos out there that plug into the Rx for the fan's power.

See this is why i love these forums good info and you guys crack me up!! so according to tb, fb and a couple others, the 25c 4000mah batts i just bought will probably be a little short on power,
so that means i will have to get a couple of 35c or 40c batts to make the extra juice, which is cool with me, i will try the ones i already have tho to see what i get out if the truck.
Man by the time my LHS gets the truck in, HPI should have most of the bugs worked out. i am a very patient man to wait this long to get one, but it really sounds like they are worth it, (some what).

i get around 30min each on my spc 6000mah 2s 30c and venom 5000mah 25c.

I believe red's 3s lipois the Turnigy 3600mAh 3S 30C (correct me if im wrong) and he says he gets 20min run time. however you will need to change your esc settings to:
lipo cut off 3.2V
Timing low 5*
start power low

Easy, open the receiver box, remove the esc plug from ch2, hook up a battery, if the extra plug is the bec like you say the receiver should be on. If it was a BEC the receiver would be powered even if the esc channel 2 is unplugged.

Got Mine Yesterday! YAHOO! Cursory inspection is thumbs up...No missing screws...etc.

Got a body with it too....fits pretty well...will look sweet...what do you think. Going Evyl on this paintjob.

Next step....setup checklist:

Use Red's ESC setup
Heat Sink/Fan on the motor (I'll verify the mystery wire going to the batt on the Rx....BEC??? FAN???)
Verify loctite on the pinion
Verify Slipper
Replace Front Turnbuckle Setup.

New Batteries are due in Thursday...

BASH IT....SATURDAY!

Parma Midnight Pumpkin....

Definately, did not line up...HPI makes it pretty easy on you though...Take the body clips out of the shock tower that retain the body posts....flip it around (gains you some length)...mark your holes. Viola!

I also used the body posts from my Sprint 2...(covers the actual post, and raises the body mount...HPI part 85002)...I needed the extra length in the front

Nice Thing is...In a few seconds you can switch back to the flux body...

I found the parameters for calculating speed. The transmission ratio is 4.71. If anyone wants the spreadsheet I made to verify this its pretty handy as well, send a pm if you want it.The calculated ratios verify the values in the manual on page 3.

changing the calculation for 2S (7.4v) will result to Theoretical Maximum Vehicle Speed: 39.26 mph (63.07 kph)

Hi,

I've returned my XS to my supplier [], he did accept to refund the total amount if i bought another model, so i'll be driving a Savage Flux HP now .

i've looked for "Official HPI Savage Flux HP thread" but didn't find it, may i stay here and ask questions when i'll receive it or only XS owners are welcome ?

Hi ThunderbirdJunkie,

I used it smoothly 5 mn on low cut grass and it started cogging, the motor was almost burnt after 5 mn of use. But these 5 mn were nice, this model is amazing.

I prefer to use something well-tested as Flux HP and i'll come back to XS later on...

IMHO HPI should propose an upgrade kit when stock ESC/Motor are faulty instead to replace them.

I was expecting the tires to shred or the MMM to explode. What a maniac!

I have to say he had the tires/rims pretty balanced...

That's an MMP; it's a Flux 2350. The HP is the only one that has the MMM.
