New Chassis w/ Integrated Bellcrank for Losi 1/24 Micros
I'll use this thread as an opportunity to introduce my self. I started a build thread on microtforum and thought I'd share the final results with people over here. I've designed and 3D printed a complete chassis for my Losi Micro Rally-X. It is available on shapeways for purchase by searching for Losi Micro Chassis. It is availible in four versions. I am using Ver. A with a custom top plate that has body posts attached for my bug body which you can see in the pictures below.
Here are the Main Features of every version:
- Lighter than stock chassis.
- Integrated bell crank which was designed to maximize servo throw (notice the input arm on the left bell crank is longer that the output arm rather than the other way around like most setups)
- Reduced (almost eliminated) bumpsteer when using aftermarket steering links like the ones from the GAUI X2
- Clearance for large tires (I wanted to use HSP MT 24 wheels and tires)
- Integrated gear cover
- Space for standard micro servo (less than 1" x 1" x .5") in lay down position mounted with double sided servo tape.
- Slot for Velcro battery strap
Version A is for stock electronics and features:
- Charge port for rally-x and scte Dynamite Hypercharge charge batteries.
- Mount for stock ON/OFF switch
- Mount for stock electronics
Version B is for aftermarket electronics:
- Features flat top plate for mounting electronics with double sided foam tape.
Wide Versions:
- Are 3/8" wider and allow for the use of wider batteries (Up to 26mm wide).
Parts needed to complete this chassis:
- Gaui X2 FES Rotor Head pack 212110 (1x needed to complete chassis from Anythingheli.com) - $4.95
- Gaui X2 Balls/Extension for CNC Swashplate Combo Pack 212110 (1x needed to complete chassis from Anythingheli.com shipping is $2-3 total) - $5.95
- 7mm x 4mm x 2.5mm bearings (1x 4 pack needed to complete chassis From atomic mods on ebay with free shipping) - $4.99
- Double sided foam tape
Tools needed to complete this chassis:
- Micro Screwdriver
- Sandpaper (150-200 grit)
- Hobby knife
Version A: $32.58 https://www.shapeways.com/product/FB...afa010538a0f77
Version A Wide: $33.68 https://www.shapeways.com/product/DM...fc998f086d8c78
Version B: $31.65 https://www.shapeways.com/product/DN...3eb342e551bfb6

Total should be under $60 with everything needed and shipping

- 12t pinion with 58t spur
- Team Blue Groove 1/24 Trail Beetle Bug Body
- GWS Heat Sink
- Gaui X2 FES Rotor Head pack 212110
- Gaui X2 Balls/Extension for CNC Swashplate Combo Pack 212110

Very nice, great job.... I'm interested but I'd prefer not to buy it from shapeways, there international postage was very expensive last time I checked....
hey, u seem to be very knowleagable on the 1/24 losi lineup.
Is it ok if u ask a few questions that are not about the kit as such?
