Some do, some don't--the crossover that is since it can cost a driver a lot of time if handled wrong.

Regarding the Vulcan, the option header-pipe is probably a must. Needless to write, my Vulcan is deadlined for a few days. The good news is that IRC is shipping a replacement. So far, I'll write that the support appears to be good.

Yeah..I didn't particularly find the rest of the LE's upgrades necessary. Never been a fan of aluminum arms and such. I'll probably be happy w/the standard buggy with the pipe and a 2 speed.

Kyosho also appears to be getting on the mini-nitro bandwagon--it's my understanding that the "white" protype plastic will be black. And since it is a Kyosho, it sort of scares me to imagine how much it will cost.

So purchase the SE. The standard also has threaded collars and of course the alloy shocks/red bling shock springs are available as option parts--here are the part numbers: #30900 and #30901.

I'm new to this forum but I did get a vulcan standard version. I burned up the motor due to lean burning during the break in period. I ran it as set by the factory. While waiting for a new motor my family bought me an SE. It is not all fluff with the metal. The main improvement with the SE is the rear shock tower. The standard version uses a plastic plate that flexes a lot. the SE version uses an aluminum tower.
The bad news is they paid big bucks for it and that day I got an E-mail from IRC racing that offered it for a lot less. I had regestered my previous version with them.
The SE had motor problems which the hobby shop fixed for free with at least 3 hours labor. I did give a good tip. The pull starter was slipping a allowed only about 3 motor rotations for each pull. This made starting difficult to say the least. The flywheel was also slipping on the motor shaft. We scavenged parts of the first car to fix this. My son tells me there is a .08 engine that will fit the car I may look into.
My other truck is a Mini-LST
Now that the SE is working I am pretty happy with it. I got the two speed trans on the other car and it is a pain in the butt to adjust for proper shifting.
Wes
