Default Mini Quake with air power 4700 and mamba max

I already put it together. Got the air power 4700 as everyone recommended, added a mamba max speed controller with a 13t pinion and a 1600mah 11.1v 3s lipo I had laying around from my crashed heli. I get 0 cogging. I can go at any speed I want and as slow as I want and it doesnt cog at all. The only time it hesitates is if I gun it from a standstill. I think either the jst connector has to go or the battery cant put out the required current. Once it gets going it spins all 4 tires at once and just takes off. Took it to work today and run it in the parking lot. No one could believe how fast. The speed control is nice and doesnt even get warm. Its a nice project. Anyone looking for a super fast setup this is it. If anyone has any questions fire away.

Nope its a mamba max controller for 1/10th scale racing. It fits right on top of the sx100 servo in place of the micro speed control that comes with. The controller came with the 7700kv motor but I decided to use an air power like everyone recommended. If I figure it out I will post some pics.

Why?
The mamba 25 is perfectly capable and that's just extra weight and overkill

Does the air power 4700 use the same shaft as stock MQ so that the MQ pinions will fit?

Default RE: Mini Quake with air power 4700 and mamba max

I ordered an extra one that I was going to use in a 1/8th scale buggy brushless project. I decided not to do that project as it wouldnt be covered under warranty. So I thought it would run really cool in a 1/18 scale truck. The mamba max runs pretty warm in a 1/10th scale so I figured the mamba 25 might run hot with a GH4700 and 3S lipo. Now I dont have to worry about checking temps or overheating anything. The whole setup is very fast and nothing gets hot. The 3s lipo is out of what is left out of my crashed heli. Everything fit perfect. Extra weight shouldnt be a big deal. I guess I was just trying to be different and save a little cash at the same time.
