10 cells on mamba 6800?
im planning to get a mamba 6800 soon and was wondering how many cells would bring me to 50 or around 50mph. i dont want to go lipo yet. i was thinking 10 cells coming from two 5 cell receiver packs. like http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXMUE1&P=0 or http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXMUE0&P=0
would they work? im planning to change the connectors to deans and use a great planes adpater http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXNKY9&P=7
do you think this would work. if anybody has other suggestions i would like to here them.

no from what i understand of the mamba 25 it will not handle 10 cells the best thing would be to go with a 3 cell lipo pack other than that i dont know what to say

RE: 10 cells on mamba 6800?
yeah the mamba 25 can take 10 cells, but is not practical, to much weigth and the cells from rx packs are not that good in high amp draw applications, I know you mention you dont want li-po but the best option would be a 3 cell much ligther and smaller than a 10 cell pack IMO

RE: 10 cells on mamba 6800?
hmm. ok thanks but wat is the difference between those rx packs and regular mini batteries. they are both 2/3 cells and are ib1400. the rx packs just have 5 cells instead of 6. anyone care to explain the diff?

im planning to put the mamba in a propulse witch might as well be a rc18t so yea. so you dont think the receiver packs will work? i would have a heat sink on the mamba with a fan to help with heat. i dont have the money to go lipo yet so thats out of the question

Just like what was mentioned before you shouldn't use receiver packs. Go to www.maxxamps.com they have packs made specifily for the minis.
