Default RC18MT Crawler

Would and if possible how would I make An Associated RC18MT a rock crawler but still capable of driving on a dirt trail?

if you could modify the toe and camber links to increase travel and by making/buying super long a-arms.
that would help.

Nope. Solid axles are a must.

A solid diff is the outdrives and the outside gear that the driveshaft comes in contact with is completely solid so there aren't gears or balls or anything.A solid diff is the same as a locked diff and is usaully used on a wheely vehicle likes HPI's Wheely King.

crawling is more than being able to climb over a carefully arranged sequence of objects.... a solid axle means that you dont have arms in the suspension, the wheels are held rigidly to the gearbox and its the gearbox that moves

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Solid_axle

one advantage of solid axle is that the vehicle would act more like a pair of lines, like one line representing the front wheels and another line representing the rear wheels... in an independant suspension setup like what you have in your 18mt, the whole vehicle would hold a rectangular shape and it would not be flexible enough for true rock crawling
