Did you purchase a low voltage cutoff?
They are helpful for making sure you don't run the battery down so much it loses punch and power. It should preferably to be set at 3.0v

A balancer discharges the cells so that they are of equal voltage which will allow for an equal natural discharge when using the battery, providing the most efficiency.

If you have plans of going brushless most ESC's have a built in LVC. The new Tekin B1/B1-R also have a LVC and they are for brushed motors. I will update on that as I should be receiving mine shortly.
FMA makes a good LVC.

Maybe if you would do a google search you might find the information you want. But since you didn't here is the information on the one "Inverted" suggested. http://www.teamtekin.com/b1.html

Some LVCs stop the car from running completely, some cut out only throttle and keep steering, some make the throttle pulse........its really dependant on what you have.

i just looked the B1 up on stormer and it is $90,,,,,, thats a lot considering all i need is the LVC part of it. is there any good LVC's that aren't part of a speed control?
