Installed:

Associated Aluminum drive shaft (blue)
RPM Shock towers (front and rear)
BRP Fiberglass rollover antenna

the rollover antenna really works! lol. it proved itself in the first 5 minutes.

I think I should try a lower pinion gear. the fireball was pretty hot. If I go lower than 14 I will loose a lot of speed I think.

WAIT A MINUTE!! the store i work at sells these things!!! they are RC18 knockoffs for sure. we even have the truck, it's called the cyclone or something like that. go to racelinemotorworks.com and look! it's like the rc18, but the molding is a little different in some places. the stock motor in those things is a beast though, it's a little faster than the stock 370 motor that comes in the rc18's. i own the 18mt, now truggy cuz i have a wing on it.

after trying out the fireball with a few different pinions, I'm thinking the stock motor that came with it is a bit faster.

Its your electronics, if you know much about electric RC's i would suggest to just not bother with buying another boring brushed motor and ESC, but instead just go BL. Its MUCH MUCH more powerfull and faster that brushed, just look up brushless RC on youtube.

So...I tried a 9.6V pack I had layin around and it was indeed faster (obviously) with the Venom 370. Few problems though, the main one being its virtually uncontrollable. What can I upgrade that'll make the steering a bit more managable and give me the ability to drive the car in a straight line for more than 10 feet?

things I've thought:

1/10 sized wheels and tires

adjustable turnbuckles

?

Over here is AUS, i can get one of these knock-off's for aprox $60AUS delivered to my door, whereas the Team AE version is $340 from my LHS, A HUGE DIFFERENCE, i know[&:]
Is it worth getting the cheap version and spend the rest on a BL system ($150 for motor and esc. either 8K or 9200KV motor) a battery (li-po either 7.4V or 11.1V. ranges from $40-60) and some alum to replace the weak spots(im thinking like shock towers, arms, drive shafts mabye??) Can anyone please suggest what i would need to get to male it strong enough for BL speeds??? keeping in mind i have a budget so no un-neccesary things.
Cheers.
Could you tell me where you can get them for $60AUS delivered? The ones I have seen on ebay usually go for about $100AUS plus delivery.

Thanks
goods.

Thanks nitro, yes I have seen those on ebay, seem a bit pricey for copies.

Right now I'm staying in Willunga.

For oneglory, have you tried a search for steering problems, from what I have read in this and other forums tightening up the steering helps.

not that anyone cares about my little clone here, but I'm currently installing a Mamba 5400 and don't really know what gearing I should have.

I'm going to upgrade to 1/10 sized wheels and tires and this is throwing me off even more.
