yes u can, the desert truck is basically the same thing, just new wheels, body, and extended chassis, rest is the same..

what i don't get is why TL thorws crummy coil over friction shocks on what is seemingly a nice truck???

I think it is maybe aftermarket??? it is almost the same as the Mico T, just a littl longer... as tyhodge07 said

yea, it doesnt come with the setup.. and i got damping in my stock shocks with grease.. they work alot better

I think the desert racer would be a great platform to try out the new 1/36th scale BL from Losi. The extra inch in chassis lenght should prevent as many wheelies

extended 22mm's on this buggy chassis i made that im running and i dont get wheelies either, with the brushless ill have to find out tho

Why dont you just put a receiver on a 9mm shell and drive that, probaly would be cheeper

If you do it right I think it would be a blast. You just need to extend the chassis a bit (prevent all the massive wheelies) and make sure the tranny is in good shape.

fastest micro is clocked at 51 mph i believe.. and gearing plays a roll in keeping it on the ground too.. if you gear it wrong, itll pop up taking off real slow.. its something you would have to be up to have and up to work with, but once you get it how you want it, im sure it would be a lot of fun.
