Compared to alot of options out there, 4400kv may sound a bit slow. I am running a 4500kvair plane out runner in my RC18 clone and happy with the speed. So if the price is right a 4400kv motor would not be a bad option either.
While it sounds slow, we know larger cans = more torque and power capability. MY rc18t is using a 3700kv align outrunner. Thanks to the torque, I'm laying rubber with a 24t pinion.

Quality vs. the same speed and less quality, 1/4 price, your choice but i think unless i race, im going cheap.

Cheap is relative! especially when you're looking at $100 vs ~$35

Besides, Going airplane esc isn't a bad idea if you just want to bash around, without intending to go backwards.
I used cheapo airplane escs before on a mini-tank project

I guess airplane esc's arent bad if you hate braking also. You can only brake at full clip so its either full brakes or nor brakes, pretty hard to throw you car around like that [&:]

Everyone stop bashing him for what he wants to do. Nothing wrong with it. I have used plane ESC's in my speed car projects in the past and it will be fine for what he wants.

I haven't done anything with mine yet but I bought one of these 30 amp car ESC's off EBay:

Get that $15 brushless motor and this ESC. It would make an inexpensive solution for you.

That's the Jeti speed controller right? Do tell us how it runs when you try it.

Not sure. It's a chinese knock-off. When I test it will post the results. But right now moving, so will be a month or two before I pull them out to run again.
