Hey Brian...thanks for the motor by the way, it's working great. Yeah many people have been talking about the 1/16 Rally in another forum. Ithink they look awesome! Would love to get one but will have to wait. I like how it's basicallya Mini-Revo/Slash. So parts will be easy to get and upgrade.

Wow, I really like the rally car! Now I know what my next project will be

Does anyone have an extra vxl motor? Also, I'm missing a pro line bowtie tire - the kind that fit the proline 2.2 beadlocks.

I'm just looking for something different to try with my beadlocks.

Yea, I like how its almost the same, except a-arms, bumpers, body etc... same batteries and general tune up items. Ill hopefully get one from the wife for xmas. That good old $60 off at towerhobbies will come in handy... then ill sell the transmitter since i already have a 2.4 so I should be able to get it for around $210 total cost. Should be interesting, and will complete my collection. Airplane, off road rc, crawler, and then on road rc.

Joe- All out of motors. I like the goosebump tires, they fit the 2.2s well. They do wear a little quicker but are a soft tread so they do hook up well.

Here they are. Im sure you've seen them I've had these mounted up since may. They have a ton of wear and I have been using them on the road (unsuccesfully, too much bite) which really took alot out of them, but I do really like their size and grab on the tracks. I even used them in the sand. Notice, your old body too!

Hey all I got 2 quick questions seeing I'm still waiting for my roller to come.

an the vxl 380 motor work on a HW 35A ESC? or will it toast it?

other is what Hobbyking lipos will work (my original 1st question was answered once I got it)

I need to know so I can order a setup for it.

Thanks for any info

Edit: Just ordered a VXL motor for it
Now what batteries will fit 2S are fine by me.
ordered 2 of these http://www.hobbypartz.com/77p-1300mah-2s1p-74-15c.html for now, and hope they will fit which according to traxxas's box measurements they should. I'm going to run them in parallel seeing they are kind of bottom of the barrel so neither battery is stressed much.
Anyone know any other 2S's preferably decently priced with higher capacity that fit?

Hey bud,

I thought that body was familiar. I almost cut out the window too, they need the airflow. I've been thinking about glueing a piece of plastic to form a tunnel from a window inlet or on the slipstream bodies to force the air directly on the back of the motor. Don't know if it would work though.

I too am trying to get one of those. I'm selling my vendetta's, both brushless with a tons of extras and lipos on cheapbay. Hey how do you use the 60$ off from tower hobbies. I get email offers all the time from them, but haven't seen the 60.00 off one yet. I'll have to re check and see if I have one. If not, I wonder if I could use one of yours.

Finally, some road worthy with Traxxas in this scale. I have a brand new sidewinder waiting to go in it too; but I may just keep the rally stock. Wow... I'm salivating at the speed records. Guaranteed someone breaks 90 with it on you tube. They've already come close with the merv.

Well I finally got the 60.00 off code from tower hobbies - it will be used pretty soon!

Hopefully the battery compartments in the rally will hold the same lipos as the merv did.

I actually am thinking of selling the BERV... What???? Yeah I think it's worth isn't being used. I have over a grand invested in it and have really only enjoyed it a handful of times, largely due to not driving it that often. Granted, I recently moved and the military takes up a good bit of my time. Maybe if my son was older, we could go drive these more often. I have 4 lipos, 3 sets of tires and custom bodies and tons of extra parts still in packaging. I may be able o get 700 or more out of it. Heck, brand new they cost that much. Who knows, I may just give it a shot and see what happens.

Sorry, meant to tell skora I want his transmitter.

Skora, when you get the rally, sell me the transmitter. I think we've sold and bought from one another a dozen times already... Let's just trust what works.

In fact, I think I have your address saved in paypal. Last time I went to ship something to you, it had your address already in their.

Anyways, I want your transmitter - buddy cost

Hey skora,

Don't mind waiting, but I may end up getting one before then. I went to drop my order for a rally through tower with my 50.00 off coupon... Out of stock - says avail late Oct! Did they really sell out that fast, or did Tower just not get their order through Traxxas yet?

Anyways, I may have to buy a transmitter to control the merv in case I run them simultaneously.

I ordered the Green Rally... Nothing screams mean like simple green!

I hope they don't go up.

I already made the order. Due the original price of 289.00 - I couldnt use the 60.00 off, but I was able to use the 50.00 off. The order should go through when they have more stock and I was sent a confirmation of the whole transaction and the total price to me was gonna be 239.00.

Can tower change the price on me even after I already locked it in?

Dang - I want one now. Does anyone else know where there are coupons we could use on a website or store that's sure to have some in stock.

Hey Honda...haven't seen you on here for a while.

I've been really into running my Merv lately. Going to the track every week. Also just built my son up a stock Merv. Mine is all setup for the dirt track so I am interested in getting a Rally for the street later on as well. There has been alot of interest for them.

ya its been a while. i've been really busy with classes, work, other hobbies, riding before winter comes, ect.
If i still lived at home, where i had a bmx track in my back yard, i would still have my merv. I really miss that track, and the merv.

Honda,

Good to see you pop your head in every once and awhile.

I am looking to get a rally vxl too. Actually placed an order today for a green one and called tower to see when they will get some in. They actually arrived today and are processing the orders right now. It probably won't ship until Monday, but I'm pretty stoked about getting it. It should arrive before the end of the mont, aroun the 25th or so they said. Can't wait!

I'll make sure to post photos of the differences and shoot a quck video for everyone.

Well got my revo together.
I bought it as a roller with expectations parts I had laying around would work... I would have been better just buying it RTR in the end...
But anyways its finally finished being put together
Still gotta take it out for its 1st run.

Love the slipstream! Sometimes buying new and RTR saves money, versus getting a roller and going the other route. Usually Rollers are best for those who want to go with different electronics and/or motors. Buying a roller and trying to build a stock R/C actually costs more than just buying the RC New.

By the way i have some photos to show of my New Rally. I will look for a forum on the rally, if i do not find one, i may create a new thread!

I ordered some new Tires to put on my beadlocks - since i have epically failed at glueing tires properly, i will go back to beadlocks, unless i purchase tires already glued.

So here's the Pro-Line Gladiators and I also have a new motor to install... supposedly this motor will out perform the VXL and stay cooler with my castle mamba max.

Here's the New Rally... And this thing is a blast!!! It does not flip over, and loves to drift, yet still maintains traction. I don't know how it will perform on 3S, but on 2S it was alot of fun!

I took some side by side comparisons with the MERV

yea the original plan was use electronics I had laying around from 1/10ths cause I know I saw a 540 motor mount for it somewhere.
I was actually estimating it to be around the same size as th CRT .5 seeing traxxas's original revo was quite a bit bigger than 1/10th which is where my error came in.

I just didn't realize how friggin tiny it was though till I had it in my hands, or I would have bought a RTR. Also thought I could fit the HW ESC where the VXL sat which is why I took out the RX box [:@].

I should have also picked up some 1/10th scale rear buggy rims and used some buggy tires that I have laying around (I have like 10 brand new sets of fronts and rears) instead of getting the talons seeing the buggy tires turned out to be the same exact size as the talons [:@]

Might end up picking a vxl3m up eventualy so I can run it in wet conditions, and just use the HW esc in another RC.

Very nice joe, those tires work pretty well, they are good for all around traction. i use to have some on a modded stampede, right before brushless came out, back in the day when you got 5 minute runtimes. lol
I've always heard good things about the feiago motors, they use to run them in e-maxx and trucks like that before mamba monster came out. All i ever heard was they ran kinda hot, but yet again they were pushing a 10lb truck.
That rally is sweet
