Default Anyone remember which Thread on TD mods?

I've been looking for the discussion in this forum's archive, where part of the discussion was on modifying a TD by narrowing the intake's diameter for better fuel draw. It was just one of several mods discussed,

I can't for the life of me find it. A little help?

Okay, a little more research has revealed that my quarry is the renowned "Dickeybird's Famous Cox Engine". But I still can't find the original discussion thread.

I searched this forum for "Dickeybird's Famous Cox Engine" and came up with a thread called "Powered by......".

There is a link 3-4 posts down that thread to the original thread. It is a broken link, so perhaps the original thread is gone.

However there appears to be some regurgitation of the details on the first page.

Hee-hee, snicker, snicker. "Powered by the Famous DickeyBird Engine." I hope you guys take that somewhat arrogant pronouncement with the proper tongue-in-cheekness!

My ol' flying buddies dared me to come up with a logo to put on my modified TeeDee equipped airplanes as a joke. At about that time, I'd been restoring a '57 Mercury Mark 22 outboard motor to go on Brian & I's fishin' boat. It had this very cool logo on the side of the engine cover that said "Powered by the Famous Hurricane Engine" and I instantly took a likin' to it. One thing led to another, a little CAD graphics work & voila! A logo was born. I put a couple on a plane or 2 as a joke & the reaction was so amazing I've stuck with them ever since.

Thanks for linking to that old thread MJD. The original TeeDee mod thread was longer & more informative. Dunno what happened to it. The linked thread brought back a ton of great memories! Except for the prole posts. Seemed like such a nice guy but he volunteered to get a special 1/2A tee shirt group deal for us, took our money & we never saw him again. He must have gotten himself into some kind of bind & needed the money & then was too embarrassed to come back on here. Sad.

AH HA! Found you Gearhead.

Sorry but I did something to the message you sent me and it went away. Not sure why.
Anyway you've got your answer now so I can delete that other post I started.

On this forum? Of course..

1/2A modelling doesn't seem to be too full of arrogant knuckle-draggers with a garage full of ARF's and barely able to CA two sticks together.
