Default Norvel Engines

A very general question. Does anyone know if there is a power difference between a Norvel AME non-throttled engine and a throttle control version?

Thanks,

There is always a bit more power out of the non throttled version of any engine just because the throttle acts as an intake restrictor. You can get even more power by taking out the control line venturi insert and running a bladder pressure system. The wide open carb lets the most air flow and the bladder makes up for the lack of suction.

HI RAY! I don't know about the RC version, but the CL motor puts out over 24 ozs of thrust with an APC 5.7-3 and 15% fuel.

Unless your racing or trying to squeeze that last little bit of speed out of it you probably won't even be able to notice the difference. If you are... the bladder tank is an old-time speed trick that can't be missed. And using the smaller diameter and greater pitch prop in the usable range will get those rpm's up into the higher power range.

Thanks to everyone for your advice. I will be using some of your ideas. Planning on doing some club pylon racing with the AME .061.
